Bonnie Parker (October 1, 1910 – May 23, 1934) and Clyde Barrow (March 24, 1909 – May 23, 1934) were well known outlaws, robbers, and criminals who, with their gang, traveled the Central United States during the Great Depression. Their exploits were known nationwide. They captured the attention of the American press and its readership during what is sometimes referred to as the "public enemy era" between 1931 and 1934. Though known today for his dozen-or-so bank robberies, Barrow in fact preferred to rob small stores or rural gas stations. The gang is believed to have killed at least nine police officers and committed several civilian murders. They were eventually ambushed and killed in Louisiana by law officers.

The MaxFlight 2002 virtual roller coaster takes the best aspects of several coaster and merges them into one adrenaline filled adventure. Well complain no more, the MaxFlight 2002 is a roller coaster with no limits when it comes to heights, physics or engineering. The ride is limited to two people in each "pod." The pods are equipped with a 52" screen, vents for air conditioning and a top of the line sound system. Just one ride on the MaxFlight 2002 and you will probably agree that it is by far the best ride you have been on. The current tallest Turbo Drop installation in operation is the Supreme Scream at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA. The ride is a vertical drop tower. It uses compressed air to propel a 12-14seat car to the top of the tower, at an approximate and average speed of 12 miles per hour (19 km/h). The car is held for multiple seconds, before it is released, dropping almost to the ground. The compressed air 'bounces' the car back to halfway, before it is lowered to the loading dock. As the tower is four-sided, up to sixteen passengers can ride simultaneously.

Spring Mountain Ranch State Park

Spring Mountain Ranch State Park is a Nevada state park in Clark County, Nevada. It is located within Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area in the Cottonwood Valley, 15.2 miles west of Las Vegas. It has a picnic area and a summer theater program. It is in the Southern Region of Nevada State Parks. In the mid-1830's, a campsite was established along the wash that runs through the ranch. The spring-fed creek and grassy meadows formed an oasis for travelers using the alternate route of the Spanish Trail through Cottonwood Valley. The use of the site by pack and wagon trains continued until their replacement by the railroad in 1905. This remote trail was also used extensively by outlaws involved in Indian slave trading, horse stealing and raids upon passing caravans. In 1840, a group of American mountain men and Ute Indians conducted a famous raid on the Mexican Ranchos in California. Mountain Man Bill Williams, a member of the raiding party, brought his band of horses through Red Rock Canyon where he rested the horses from the hard trip across the desert. Apparently he revisited the area several times and for many years afterwards the site of Spring Mountain Ranch was known as the "Old Bill Williams Ranch".

Things To Do in Jean: MGM Grand Lion Habitat #19 of 30 Things To Do in Jean
MGM Grand Lion Habitat
Las Vegas NV
~23.92 miles from Jean city center
Hotels Close to MGM Grand Lion Habitat
Hit this attraction at the right time, and it's one of the best freebies in town. It's a large, multilevel glass enclosure in which lions frolic during various times of day. In addition to regular viewing spots, you can walk through a glass tunnel and get a worm's-eye view of the underside of a lion (provided one is in position); note how very big Kitty's paws are. Multiple lions share show duties (about 6 hr. on and then 2 days off at a ranch for some free-range activity, so they're never cooped up here for long). You could see any combo, from one giant male to a pack of five females who have grown from cub to adult size during their MGM time. Each comes with a trainer or three, who are there to keep the lions busy with play so they don't act like the big cats they are and sleep the entire time. But obviously, photo ops are more likely to occur as the more frisky youngsters tussle, so what you observe definitely depends on who is in residence when you drop by. Note: Hordes of tourists are often pressed against the glass, preventing you, not to mention your kids, from doing the same.

Things To Do in Jean: Rio all suite hotel #22 of 30 Things To Do in Jean
Rio all suite hotel
3700 W Flamingo Rd Las Vegas NV
~24.48 miles from Jean city center
Hotels Close to Rio all suite hotel
Rio bills itself as a "carnival" atmosphere hotel, which means hectic, crowded, and noisy, and an apparent edict requiring the Most Scantily Clad Waitresses in Town to burst into song and dance in between delivering beers. The Masquerade Village is actually pretty pleasant, with a very high ceiling, but the older section's low ceilings seem to accentuate only how crowded the area is in both the number of people and the amount of stuff (slot machines, gaming tables, and so on). This party atmosphere, by the way, is strictly for adults; the hotel actively discourages guests from bringing children. The hotel touts its room size. Every one is a "suite," which does not mean two separate rooms, but rather one large room with a sectional, corner sofa, and coffee table at one end. The dressing areas are certainly larger than average and feature a number of extra amenities, such as fridges (unusual for a Vegas hotel room) and small snacks. Windows, running the entire length of the room, are floor to ceiling, with a pretty impressive view of the Strip, Vegas, or the mountains (depending on which way you're facing). The furniture doesn't feel like hotel-room standard, but otherwise the decor is fairly bland. The hotel's first-rate Carnival World Buffet and barbecue restaurant RUB are worth a visit. You might consider checking out the Wine Cellar Tasting Room, which bills itself as "the world's largest and most extensive collection of fine wines," and, hyperbole aside, it's certainly impressive and a must-do for any wine aficionado. Penn & Teller is the smartest show in town. The casino, alas, is dark and claustrophobic. The party/carnival theme gets a distinct R rating, with the newly reconceived Show in the Sky, the Rio's free entertainment spectacle. Sort of an homage to Rio Carnival, courtesy of floats that move on grids set in the ceiling above the casino, it now includes sets, such as spas and 17-foot-long beds, with "performers of seduction" gyrating to the Pussycat Dolls. Performed Thursday through Sunday in the evening. Out back is a pool with a sandy beach, and two others in imaginative fish and shell shapes that seem inviting until you get up close and see how small they are. It could be especially disappointing after you have braved the long, cluttered walk (particularly from the newer tower rooms) to get there. Three whirlpool spas nestle amid rocks and foliage, there are two sand-volleyball courts, and blue-and-white-striped cabanas (equipped with rafts and misting coolers) can be rented for $250 to $500 per day. The 18-hole championship Rio Secco golf course, located on the south side of town (transportation included), was designed by Rees Jones. Facilities: 12 restaurants; sports book dining; casino; concierge; executive-level rooms; golf course; health club; 4 outdoor pools; room service; showrooms; spa

Mikhail Gorbachev once spoke in the arena in March 2004 about his views on current world events. The facility is named after two prominent Nevada bankers, E. Parry Thomas and Jerome Mack, who donated the original funds for the feasibility and land studies. In 2001, a smaller arena, Cox Pavilion, was added to the complex; the two arenas are directly connected. Cox Pavilion is used for smaller events; its main tenants are the UNLV women's basketball and volleyball programs. It was the former home of the Arena Football League's Las Vegas Sting and Las Vegas Gladiators. In 2005 and 2006, the arena hosted the Arena Football League's ArenaBowl. And it hosted the 2007 NBA All-Star Game, marking the first time that this game was held in a city without an NBA franchise. For the first time in NBA history, an on-campus college sports arena served as venue of an NBA All-Star Game. The Thomas and Mack Center had also been an alternate home for the Utah Jazz in the mid-1980s, and was where Kareem Abdul-Jabbar broke Wilt Chamberlain's record for points in a career in 1984. The 1994-95 Big West Conference, 1997-99 Western Athletic Conference and 2000-03 Mountain West Conference men's basketball tournaments were held there as well. The Mountain West Conference basketball tournament returned in 2007 and will stay until 2013.[1] David Bowie performed at the arena during his Outside Tour on October 19, 1995. Mariah Carey performed at the arena during her Rainbow World Tour on March 18, 2000. The cast members of the film High School Musical performed at the arena during their High School Musical: The Concert Tour, on January 28, 2007. In late 2007, CBS filmed part of the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation episode, "Bull", at the Thomas & Mack Center, which was hosting the PBR World Finals. The FIBA Americas Championship 2007 was held at Thomas & Mack Center from August 22 to September 2.

The United States Marine Corps (USMC) is a branch of the United States armed forces responsible for providing force projection from the sea, using the mobility of the United States Navy to rapidly deliver combined-arms task forces. It is one of seven uniformed services of the United States. In the civilian leadership structure of the United States military, the Marine Corps is a component of the United States Department of the Navy, often working closely with U.S. naval forces for training, transportation, and logistic purposes; however, in the military leadership structure the Marine Corps is a separate branch. Captain Samuel Nicholas formed two battalions of Continental Marines on 10 November 1775 in Philadelphia as naval infantry.[10] Since then, the mission of the Marine Corps has evolved with changing military doctrine and American foreign policy. The Marine Corps has served in every American armed conflict and attained prominence in the 20th century when its theories and practices of amphibious warfare proved prescient and ultimately formed the cornerstone of the Pacific campaign of World War II. By the mid-20th century, the Marine Corps had become the dominant theorist and practitioner of amphibious warfare. Its ability to respond rapidly to regional crises gives it a strong role in the implementation and execution of American foreign policy. The United States Marine Corps includes just over 203,000 active duty Marines (as of October 2009) and just under 40,000 reserve Marines. It is the smallest of the United States' armed forces in the Department of Defense (the United States Coast Guard is smaller, about one-fifth the size of the Marine Corps, but is normally under the Department of Homeland Security). The Marine Corps is nonetheless larger than the armed forces of many significant military powers; for example, it is larger than the active duty Israel Defense Forces, or the entire British Army. The Marine Corps accounts for around six percent of the military budget of the United States. The cost per Marine is $20,000 less than the cost of a serviceman from the other services, and the entire force can be used for both hybrid and major combat operations, that is, the Marines cover the entire Three Block War.
