We regularly fly into Great Falls to see our daughter who lives a ways south of the city. We've never actually spent time there before and we quite enjoyed it!
There are wonderful parks with great hiking and biking trails. The Charlie Russell Museum was excellent and there were several other museums we simply didn't have time for like the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center. And there's always fishing/rafting the Missouri river!

Went down for shopping, but so much is closed.
Went down for shopping, but so much is closed. The "mall" is a dead mall with barely anything in it. Target is great, which is were we ended up.
Childrens museum was closed with nothing on the website indicating it was being used for a private function.

I grew up in Great Falls, so it's fun to see what has changed. The CM Russell museum is terrific, and there are other artists also there. The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center was the family's favorite, and there is a riverwalk hike to Giant Springs. Or you drive down to it (1/2 mile). Giant Springs is the largest natural spring in the world, I heard, but the Roe River, once the shortest river in the world may have been dethroned. The park around Giant Springs is great for picnicking, and we love just watching the river rush by. There's a trout hatchery next to the park, and it's fun to see how little fry become big fish. You can pay to feed them, so it's fun for little ones.
Great Falls is a grid, so getting around is easy. All the streets are clearly marked, and the main roads are accessible even during construction.
My favorite Western Wear shop is Hoglund's downtown. The prices are reasonable, and the staff is genuinely happy to help. They have a lot of boots and hats as well as clothing and accessories. I walked out with gorgeous cowboy boots that were comfortable from the start--not easy with this type of footwear, and they cleaned my son's Stetson for free, just because it was dusty. Truly my favorite store for that stuff.

Would not recommend staying here.
Would not recommend staying here. Was over charged for smaller room...was not upgraded. Also never use booking.com either as they offered no help retrieving my money back for a horrible experience at a hotel the offered on thier. Website
We had a spacious room with kitchenette on the second floor with a balcony overlooking the Missouri River. Wonderful! The landscaping was beautiful with many beds and pots of beautiful, colorful flowers and sweeping green lawns. The breakfast was very adequate with lots of food, a good variety, all you could eat. The indoor pool was not heated and too chilly for our Texas blood, but the hot tub was nice. Great Falls is a small town, so all the attractions were an easy drive away.
In the restaurant next door and very good. Included hot food which you heated in a microwave. Good choice of cereal etc. the staff member was very welcoming and helpful. This is an original building rebuilt internally to a very high standard. The walls are decorated with original artwork on all levels so like visiting and art gallery. Certainly one of the top 3 hotels/motels in our 3 week trip. Loved it. Walking distance of downtown and parking provided by hotel.
Beds & pillows were very comfortable. Towels were super soft & fluffy (seemed new). Room was very clean. Everything was in working order.
Especially liked that breakfast included homemade oatmeal and a selection of Bigalow teas in addition to breakfast sandwiches and bars, waffles, yogurt, mandarin orange cups. Also they had a hot water dispenser in breakfast area so our tea was hot, not tepid. Staff was friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel.
Comfortable bed and a quiet location. Great staff who were helpful. Good location by the river and a few minutes drive to restuarants. Bathrooms need a decor refresh although they were perfectly clean. If you need cookware or plates be sure to request asap. Demand exceeeds supply. Childrens play area and picnic tables right there on the rivrside park. Great for a one night stay although Great Falls has a lot to offer for a longer.
Yes, first the bathroom and bed had old hair in it. Secondly the power went out the the last night and I needed to catch a flight and the hotel couldn't not accommodate charging my phone or even telling me when the power will be restored. I had to relocate to another hotel. An they charged me extra for checking out early. All around terrible experience.
Breakfast was good. I like the waffle option.
We had a bit of trouble finding the hotel because we were expecting to see it right on the main route, but once we found it was quite conveniently located for what we were doing.
Hotel Arvon is in a central location with the Celtic Cowboy next door. It is a real pub and stay. Cozy pub, wonderful breakfast, and art lined hallways. There is even a livery in the back to park your weary horse powered car.
It was nice to have protein for breakfast (eggs, sausage). Location was quite handy to fast food, gas, groceries etc. We loved walking in the hospital district, where the Great Falls Inn is located, with all its green spaces.
From the minute we walked in to the minute we checked out we were treated with the utmost respect. The entire hotel was very clean and the rooms are very nice. Then the breakfast they served in the morning was amazing.
The breakfast was fine, hotel breakfast. I did enjoy the sausage gravy and biscuits. It was a handy location for my needs. The staff went above and beyond for our stay! The room was very comfortable.
Hotel and rooms were clean, they provided a limited breakfast, housekeeping was very nice and attentive. Rooms are a good size with hardwood floors instead of carpet which is a big plus!!
The hotel has an atrium where the pool is with rooms surrounding it. It’s pretty in there and if you get a poolside room you can keep an eye on older kids while they swim.
