Beautiful property, very well maintained and equipped. The room had everything we needed and was cozy and comfortable. The outdoor area with access to the lake is extremely well maintained, and there were plenty of activities to enjoy, such as kayaking, taking a ride on the little boat, and stand-up paddling, even though swimming wasn't an option. The location is great. We could do mostly everything walking.

I liked the views, quietness, fresh air, variety of restaurants, nice spacious metered parking at the city center (pretty cheap compared to Boston), opportunities to walk around the city. Lake Placid is a nice hub for those wishing to go hiking Adirondack mountains and forests but not wanting to live in a campsite.

I really liked the town.
I really liked the town. It's cozy, with old buildings and without skyscrapers. Beautiful hiking options. Nice museum. Many coffee places and dinning options. A little bit overpriced but still OK for a vacation. Definitely it's better to have a kitchen at you stay options to save some money on a food.

I went Sunday to Thursday in mid December, but it seems like "season" doesn't start in Lake Placid until Christmas day. A lot of attractions and restaurants are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday and it was raining the only day the speed skating oval was open for me, so I had bad luck and would plan better next time. I didn't get to do bobsled experience and other things from the legacy site and was even turned away from the Gondola at whiteface as a sight seer. So just make sure the things you want to do will be open when you go.

Lake Placid is an absolutely beautiful little town.
Lake Placid is an absolutely beautiful little town. Everything is within walking distance and there is so much to see and do. It’s pricey but there are so many beautiful little shops and places to eat. Walk the lake or climb a mountain, you’ll keep busy for days.

The hotel was great, very clean, beds comfy, great breakfasts! Staff was friendly and personable. Nice keurig coffee machine in room, so you can bring your own k cups if you want. They only have Green Mountain brand. They also have decaf. Location was the best! Not very far from anything! Loved the top of Whiteface Mountain, can access by elevator or hiking. Was a continuous fragrance of pine, reminded me of Christmas. While at the ski jumps we had a chance to see some of the 6-14 year olds practice. That was great! We had a very good meal at Black Bear Restaurant! Getting around town is very easy. All in all a great place to stay for a few days.
A wonderful place to relax, unlike a normal hotel experience. The rooms were comfy, the outdoor fire pit (with free smores!) was a great place to hang out at night with other guests, and the sauna was relaxing. Aqi, Amina, and co were incredibly hospitable, friendly, and welcoming; it was a real pleasure to spend the evening there and talk with them. Next time I'm in Lake Placid I will definitely be staying here again.
Breakfast didn't have many hot options, most hotels have several? No pool or hot tub which wasn't happy about, room was lovely, but I asked to be cleaned after 2 days, my husband had spilled granola all on the carpet but they didn't vaccum, they did clean bathroom and made beds. For the money was a little disappointed, also the exchange cost me another $230.00 canadian for 3 night stay.
We have stayed at High peaks several times in the past. The rooms were looking tired so we were especially happy to be in a newly renovated room-very nice. We were greeted with the traditional champagne and the chef had made brownies-nice touch. We love the location of the hotel and the free parking. The staff was great and accommodating. Thanks for a great stay.
The biggest disappointment was no pool!!!! But we were notified of that AFTER we had already booked. Couldn't find another room anywhere (ECAC hockey playoff weekend) so still kept the reservation. We always stay here when visiting Lake Placid - hope they rebuild up on the hill and have a nice pool like before.
The price was a lot lower than surrounding hotels. I liked that it was a short driving distance to the Olympic center. Rooms were outdated but clean. There was a mini fridge in the room. The pool and hot tub seemed nice and open until I0pm, I did not go in them but my son and friends did.
the bunk beds were very convenient, and the warm bed coverings, the communal gas fireplace, fairly quiet only noise was the road in front of the lodge. The individual quaint cottages, very quiet could not hear any sound from the outside except the rain falling on the roof which was fine.
Location was great and staff was friendly. Rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable and down comforters were a cozy addition in an Adirondack/ski town hotel. There was plenty of parking and it was a quick walk to the Olympic center and the heart of town.
Rooms were clean and modern and the property was well cared for. The bed was clean and comfortable. Price was fair for what was offered. Staff was friendly. Nice location close to the Village of Lake Placid and close proximity to Wilmington and West Branch of the Ausable.
I loved the location of this hotel. It was just outside of the downtown core, so it was quieter from foot traffic, but only a 15 minute walk to downtown. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were a decent size. I liked having a microwave and mini fridge.
First time at the hotel and would definitely return. Being able to get a quick breakfast in the lobby right at 6am was great before heading out for a full day of activity in the mountains. It's also walking distance to everything on Main St. in Lake Placid.
Parking was easy. I was able to walk to many restaurants and popular spots (mirror lake, Olympic center and museum) without having to worry about driving! The room was huge and offered streaming on Hulu. The hotel even offered breakfast in the morning!
Very spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. Plenty of good quality furnishings, towels and toiletries. Good kitchen. Supermarket nearby and wine merchant across the road. Short drive to town centre, where the main hotel reception is.
Everything! The rooms looked as advertised on the website. The staff was so attentive and the hotel is located in the middle of downtown, so no matter which direction you go you'll find awesome shops and restaurants.
The location, view and bed were perfect. Paid valet parking was convenient and on site.
We didn't eat or drink at the hotel, but only because Lake Placid offers so many dining opportunities.
