The breakfast concept was great. Good coffee, maybe add some larger cups. The property is nicely isolated. As for view from room, well, we did not choose this to look out our window😉.

The ‘new’ Hampton Inn in New Paltz is centrally located, right off the highway, but yet centrally located to restaurants, shops & the University here. We were in a short driving distance to great hiking along the ‘Walk Over the Hudson’ & ‘Minnewaska State Park’ Perfect place to stay. We would come from our adventures and unwind in their beautiful pool! Love that the hotel is brand new, with high end finishers, rooms are larger than most hotel rooms & the extended shower is a plus! Will definitely book in advance to make sure we get a room!

cute town, could be more fun after coronavirus restrictions
cute town, could be more fun after coronavirus restrictions
stayed to day trip to Lake Minnewaska
get there at opening.. still crowded..the hike to and from the Upper Parking to Awosta Falls was boring and strenuous on the way back to lake and not in a fun way. like a treadmill workout
Lake is pretty to look at but fairly pointless as there is only one small ugly little beach with a small roped off swimming area packed (even with coronavirus) with small children
Basically.. disappointing. Came here decades ago before the state took over and remember it being a lot more fun
wont be back

Scenic and pleasant. Hilly area.
Scenic and pleasant. Hilly area. October is the best time to visit the place. Especially good for trekkers. Nearby SUNY campus is a destination too. Transport to NYC is easy. Via trailways bus service. Also at New Paltz, to move in and around, New Paltz Taxi is good, affordable and secure. All you have to do is collect their contact number and give a ring.

Nearby Minnewaska State Park and Mohonk preserve are gems and have some of our favorite hiking trails, and that's our main reason for coming. NP is a small, friendly college town (SUNY New Paltz) in the nature- and culture-rich Hudson Valley, but not necessarily where we'd choose to stay if not for the parks. With the exception of one surprisingly good Oaxacan restaurant on Main Street, better food and other diversions can be found in other HV towns.

New Paltz is a great place to spend a weekend, especially for city-slickers like me who need a quick getaway. The town proper is quaint, well maintained and supported by the local college. It ebbs and flows with the students, evidenced by 7 in 10 restaurants converting to clubs after 10pm.
For those looking for a relaxing getaway, the surrounding areas host some of New York State's best wineries, distilleries, and views. Rolling hills, valleys and the Hudson River offer a great backdrop for an upstate adventure.

Great eateries and shops.
Great eateries and shops. Friendly progressive village includes a state university campus. Lots of outdoor activities in the area including rock climbing, hiking, swimming, nature walks. Visit the Historic district with homes from the 1700
and 1800’s on Huguenot street.
The Hotel sits at the top of New Paltz, right on the Empire State Trail so perfect for cyclists doing a multi-day trip. As you arrive at right turn on the EST, next to a quite busy crossroads, the hotel is reached by turning right and using the crossing to get to it. Rooms were really quiet, they had no problems about me keeping my bike in the room, beds were comfortable and the showers lovely and hot.
The staff at the front desk was very kind and helpful. They help us and answered all of our questions. The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Also the hotel is very close to the Interstate 87 so it's usefull after a long trip from Virginia Beach to get some rest before going back to Canada.
We love this Hampton Inn. It never changes! The hotel is well maintained, the rooms are spacious, the staff are helpful and friendly and the breakfast is good. Nice to have the little fitness center too.
We did not have breakfast but the coffee maker in the room gave pretty good coffee. Room was spotless and had no odd smell. This motel was convenient to New Paltz and other Hudson Valley attractions.
