This was one of the worst places I have stayed at and I travel a lot. I will never stay at a Red Roof Inn again. The people that worked there were very nice. They answered all questions and were nice when asked questions.

I have always wanted to see Vicksburg after learning about...
I have always wanted to see Vicksburg after learning about it's importance during the Civil War. The Ken Burns documentary covered this major battle, and how it changed the course of the war. The military park was incredible and we spent the extra money to hire a tour guide who rode with us as we drove through the park. Absolutely worth every penny! We stayed at the historic Bazsinsky House just across from the beautiful courthouse, and within walking distance of downtown and the river. I wish I had done more research ahead of time about what all there was to see, and ended up not having time to explore more of the area. We had a delicious dinner at the 10 South Rooftop Bar and Grill that overlooks the river, and saw a beautiful sunset. Went to the Civil War Museum in Downtown and had a wonderful visit with the owner. His collection is incredible, and he is so knowledgeable.

Nice town with some history and quaint antebellum houses.
Nice town with some history and quaint antebellum houses. Lovely Southern hospitality. A couple of good museums. Good music and beer at the Key City Brewery (although food not the best). If you have the time then visit ‘Under the Hill’ and especially the Cemeteries and War memorials run by the National Parks Service.

Great little town but like many towns in the US it is dead...
Great little town but like many towns in the US it is dead commercially.
However there is a very interesting Civil War Museum run by an individual who is a memorabilia collector. He has created a very interesting little museum packed with all sorts of weapons, equipment, clothing and documents from the Civil War era.
There are all sorts of retail outlets and eateries outside the town, but i am always dismayed that there isn't a civic support for bringing businesses back into the centre of small towns and cities.
Its the same in Lafayette LA, Chanpagne-Urbana IL and Clarksdale TS.
The town centres are dead.

The historic area we were in was extremely impoverished.
The historic area we were in was extremely impoverished. The area was filled with abandoned and run down buildings. The downtown area wasn’t bad, but everything else surrounding it was beyond terrible. We found an amazing restaurant downtown. 10 South Rooftop-it was the only highlight of our trip there.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The room was exceptional. I requested a non-smoking king bed and worried about the room may have some smoke smell in it since it is associated with a casino. No smoke smell! The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was large. The price was very acceptable for the area.
The casino across the street from the hotel has a Tesla Supercharger. I was able to charge my vehicle while eating at the casino.
Beautiful and well appointed home. The host is very kind and welcoming, prepares an excellent breakfast, and shares the story of the house and its previous occupants, dating back to before the Civil War. The room itself was very spacious, and full of little things (brochures, coupons, magazines...) to make our stay in the area more interesting and enjoyable. We would not consider going anywhere else if we go back to Vicksburg.
What a treat to stay in this historical home. It is an antique but the owners have done their best to upgrade the amenities to make you comfortable and maintain the integrity of the history. The breakfast was outstanding southern fare to fill your belly. The staff were attentive to your needs and making sure your stay was a pleasant experience. I would stay here again next time I visit Vicksburg.
The Hotel is impressive. Nice Large entrance lobby and breakfast area. Free snacks and drinks on arrival up to 7pm. Excellent location for exploring the civil war battlefield. Downtown is only a short car drive away and easy access to interstate. Room was fine. Swimming Pool good. Breakfast also good.
House and room were beautiful and clean. Breakfast was wonderful and well prepared and presented. Everything about our stay was exceptional. Parking was free and safe and historic district was within walking distance.
I highly recommend the Baer House as a place to stay and enjoy Vicksburg.
Nothing. Old, it smelled of a musty odor. Bed linens were old and dingy looking. Hotel lobby flooring was dirty. Had to wait to check in for about 30 minutes because they were updating their systems. We left immediately and didn’t even spend the first night.
Corey and Patricia made our stay perfect in their amazing historic mansion. Everything starting from the yummy breakfast up to the room details and tidiness made us feel welcome in Vicksburg. Absolutely recommended
Beautiful historic home with all the luxuries you would want from a modern hotel. The hotel pool was small but immaculate. The hotel bar was fun it was laid back and a nice way to meet fellow travkers.
The hotel was up to the standard of the IHG hotel. Very nice and comfortable. Breakfast was okay not outstanding just the standard breakfast for this hotel. Staff very professional and courteous.
Andrew made breakfast as if we were friends, rather than customers. It was ample, and at breakfast, he answered many questions related to Vicksburg, and to the house in particular.
What an amazing property. Possibly the most comfortable bed I ve ever slept in .If your in Vicksburg this place is a must. Perfect for parking in a beautiful area too
