We visited Sausalito Sunday and Monday during spring break. Sausalito is full of live, people shopping, walking around. However, only after 11-12. In the morning everything is closed... no one on the streets. We were wondering where everyone was.

Wonderful place to stay!
Wonderful place to stay! Planned on going to the city however never got there. Spent a lot of time at Ft. Baker, another nice place! This small town will capture your heart and make you want to stay. We went to see what the Otis Redding song was about and could see straight away why the place was inspirational. The light changing over the San Francisco skyline at any time of day means you can get lost in the sunshine, dream on, and eat in the most idyllic settings. Sausalito is an artsy town with lovely shops and easy access to the freeway Golden Gate bridge and the ferrys that will take you to San Francisco Oakland or Tiburon.
