The room, and especially the bed, was quite comfortable; and a very friendly cat visited us in our room. Having a comfortable sofa was a major plus. The ‘settlement’ is quite charming, with a bit of a mining camp feel. And most other guests were friendly.

We loved staying in the heart of the historic town of Bridgeport California. We found the people of the town of Bridgeport to be very friendly and made us feel right at home. Despite being a small town, there are many food options available in the local restaurants. The scenery of the majestic Sierra Nevada mountains surrounding this town are breathtaking!

Much nicer than I expected. Very clean and fresh feeling.
Much nicer than I expected. Very clean and fresh feeling. I will stay here again, no need to look anywhere else. Relative had a room down the street and it did not even come close to the comfort level I had at Redwood motel. They also will now book at Redwood motel for their next trip.

Only a couple eating places open, and you have a choice of burger haven, a deli, a brewery (closed at 2pm), ice cream place, and the Bridgeport Inn restaurant which had poor food reviews. We chose to eat outdoors so we had deli sandwiches at Alberts. Not good.
Always enjoy my stays here at Bridgeport Inn. I prefer to stay in the historical building which is late1800's period, therefore, I do not expect a 5-star room. It might as well be as how I am treated there far offsets the age of the room. I stay here because it is fun and affordable compared to other sites. The food is awesome and the staff goes out of their way to make sure everything is as it should be. I've lost track of how many times I've stayed here. Their service keeps me coming back!
The setting of this motel is stunning, next to a small stream in a valley overlooking the Sierras. I spent the morning in tranquil peace, reading on the deck behind the room overlooking the stream and mountains. It was wonderful. This is an old-time motel, but has been kept up. It was comfortable, clean, with coffee makers and TV. Everything worked!!! I strongly recommend this lodging, especially to people who do not like what has become the standard Holiday Inn- like hotel room.
Everything! The host Jeff did everything to make our stay very enjoyable and the town of Bridgeport was a nice little entertaining surprise on our road trip. Cute rooms, very charming interior. I really loved the coffee bar in the lobby where you could get really good coffee and tea anytime you liked. I highly recommend The Bodie Hotel and will stay there again for sure when in the area.
It was a nice surprise when we got there and hotel, rooms.... were really better than pictures. It is located outside Yosemite when you cross it from west to east. It looks to be situated un mid of anything, town doesn´t appear to be California. But hotel is clean, big rooms, comfortable beds, quiet, nice to rest "in route". Thanks a lot for your attention.
The room was spacious and nicely decorated. I was clean, however, maybe a bit too clean. There was a very unpleasant stingy smell, either desinfectant or insect killer. It was unbearable. Even with windows/door open it was hard to breathe. And for sleeping they had to be closed. Apart from the smell, it was a nice hotel, a solid ten
The rooms were very clean and so were the shared bathrooms. The bar was super cool and the "old-time" vibes throughout the hotel were fun. It was located in the center of town, so it made it easy to explore. The restaurant was delicious and the prices were very affordable.
Family owned business. Excellent facilities and property. Laundry facilities. Guests are treated to a bonfire every evening. There is a nice hiking trail in the back of the property. Lovely grounds with barbecues as well. Minuets from Bodie or Bridgeport
Oh what a place! We were amazed from the second we arrived. Staff and owners were so welcoming. Our cabin was spacious and the bed was very comfy. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the restaurant.
When we arrived, we even got a smores kit!
Solid choice for travel to the eastern sierra. Older hotel, maintained well. Small rooms, but decor is solid and they are cozy which is a must given the cold overnight temps in the area.
An excellent value for a hotel in peak foliage season. The bedding surprisingly warm despite it's thread worn appearance.
Location was great for my needs. It had some character
I stayed in a covered wagon and loved everything about it. The nearby bathroom and bath house was perfect and clean. The restaurant staff was excellent and so friendly.
Jeff & Jo's hospitality, moments from the past that are encapsuled in this beautiful hotel, proximity of Yosemites, amazing nature that surrounds Bodie Hotel.
A great place to stay after a long day in Yosemite, comfortable beds and nice outdoor areas to relax. Near to Bodie Ghost Town and other interesting sites.
