The check in video booth was abysmal. Absolutely hated it. Hard to understand the guy on the other side of the screen. Very impersonal. Would not recommend this hotel on that basis alone.

Nothing, I had 50 roaches in my room coming out of the bed and the microwave- didn’t sleep and there was no one available at the front desk to help. They refuse to refund my stay, apparently they think $60 is a fair price to have your food and rest ruined by over 50 roaches in various stages of life cycles. DONT EVER STAY ON THE BOTTOM FLOOR Especially NEAR THE POOL

Loved the spacious rooms. Very comfortable beds and overall fantastic stay. Clean and very friendly staff welcomed us. Parking was easy, right outside the hotel and we were allowed to bring in our precious senior dog. Our dog is a huge part of our family so it was amazing to find such a nice hotel, also welcoming pets.

Random thoughts: I enjoyed staying in the cottage. Starbucks coffee in the lounge was fine. The coffee shop Delta of Venus across the street even better. Bed was fine with pillows of assorted firmness levels (necessary!) and I loved the jacuzzi tub. Nice fluffy towels, an efficient two-zone heating system. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The location was fabulous—walking distance to all of downtown Davis. I had a great time sitting on the patio when the weather warmed up.

Great place to stay in Davis. Close enough to UC Davis that we didn't have to get up early for Aggie Day. There were good restaurants nearby (highly recommend the Japanese one) and a fab grocery store.

The hotel met my expectation.
The hotel met my expectation. However, I was charged about $15 over the price that was shown during booking and confirmation. I asked why but was told it was for incidental and would be refunded upon checked out. It was not refunded when I checked out. In fact, I was not given a receipt even I had asked for one. Booking.com has not done anything to help me to resolve this situation. I lived in Davis for many years, so I know where I want to...
I lived in Davis for many years, so I know where I want to go when I am there. I recommend the Davis Food Co-op for bulk foods, organic produce, and spices hard to find elsewhere. There is an Asian market on Fourth street. The Farmers Market is Wednesday afternoon and Saturday morning. Davis Ace Hardware has a good selection of kitchen wares, towels, and napkins. Pence Gallery on D Street and The Artery on G Street have original art for sale. There are independent book stores downtown, one for new books and toys, another for used books. There are three movie theaters downtown - one for indie films. The arboretum and university campus are favorite places to walk. Unitrans buses can take you around town - walk down third street to campus to get on board. There is a variety of restaurants on Second and Third streets, E and G Streets, and the university student union on campus. Indian and Nepalese food are especially good. When I booked, I asked for a room in a quiet location away from freeway noise and the hotel told me to call the day of arrival so they could pre-assign me a quiet room. That worked out fine for us. This hotel was quite a bit cheaper and this room much quieter than the hotel we usually book in the middle Davis, so we were happy with this choice.
