Madison is a cute historical town with great small restaurants, boutique shops and antique malls. There is a nice state park with great hiking and beautiful views. It's easy to navigate through the city and is also a good central location to many areas that are great for day trips!

We love Madison!
We love Madison! We live in Columbus, IN and visit Madison atleast monthly. The historic homes and businesses are exceptional. In fact, we were in town on the 41st Holiday Tour of Historic Homes. The tour was amazing and we really appreciate all the folks who work very hard to make it so!
We ate dinner at the Broadway Tap...delicious and great service (thank you Violet!). We love the coffee and scones at the Red Roaster. We visited the Lantier Winery...gorgeously decorated for the holidays and fantastic selection of wines.
We found parking easy everywhere we went. We finished our evening at St. Michael's Church...the last stop on the tour. It is no longer an operating Church but the historical society and the City of Madison is keeping it alive...thank you!!

Main Street is so quaint with tons of character!
Main Street is so quaint with tons of character! The riverfront area is relaxing with nice landscaping and benches to sit and watch the water roll by. Wineries, breweries and cute little restaurants are everywhere. Parking downtown is plentiful. Clifty Falls State Park is beautiful with good hiking and a good restaurant at the Inn. I wish Madison would hurry and bring back Crystal Beach, their public swimming pool. Guests need a place to swim!

There is nothing like it in Hamilton County.
There is nothing like it in Hamilton County. Our fast growing and new cities could never be the relaxed and old timey feel of a river town. The river walk is my favorite of any place I’ve gone. I loved the experience of walking across the river into Kentucky just for bragging rights!
Obviously I’m an old dude, but “kicks is kicks”
This property was amazing! The attention to detail not only in design but amenities was great. It had everything and more. We especially enjoyed the Nespresso machine. It was within walking distance to all things downtown Madison has to offer. We didn’t want to leave and wish our stay was longer. We would defiantly book again.
I was pleasantly surprised about the professional approach and laid back attitude when it came to both checking in and out. The staff wasn't pushy about checkout like most hotels/ motels are. The breakfast was OK but that is minor to how wonderful the staff was.. From manager down to housekeeping, they wer, are great.
Overall, the hotel is clean everywhere. Staffs are nice and helpful. The room is small but cozy and quiet. Window AC is ok (not too noisy). The bed is comfy. The hot breakfast is average. It is close to Clifty Falls Park not to the town. I do recommend this hotel if you visit Madison.
The new entrepreneurial owners of Riverboat Inn seem to understand what visitors to the historic and charming town of Madison want. Great views of the Ohio River, lovely walking paths, friendly and accommodating staff, and affordability. A refreshing change from the "chain" motels.
The Chandler Hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was decorated beautifully, and the lobby was lovely. The owner was kind and welcoming. Got to see the upcoming lower wing that will be opening soon. Our next visit to Madison we will be staying @ The Chandler Hotel.
The hotel was beautiful & right on the river in Madison. It’s lovely, modern, and comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed my room where I could stream what I wanted on the tvs! I kept admiring the architecture in the room and building. A lot has been preserved historically.
We enjoyed the park as a whole. The hiking trails and downtown Madison is why we visited. There was a wedding party there, but we didn't hear any parting going on. The location is great. Very close to historic downtown Madison.
The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was a good size and the hotel was close to the Clifty Falls State Park and the town of Madison. Breakfast was adequate, with waffles, oatmeal, fruit, and more.
The view was beautiful and the balcony was private. We were on the third floor and could see the bridge crossing over to Kentucy and the view of downtown Madison to the Smoke stacks towards Cliffy Falls.
I really love Madison and the HIllside is where I like to stay. The view is gorgeous and the entire hotel just has a nice down home kind of feel to it. Not exactly luxurious but comfy and friendly.
The location on the Ohio River in Madison IN can't be beat. Staff members went out of their way to be helpful.
The room and all public areas were spotless.
Everything about the stay was exceptional. I’m in town every weekend and stay the whole weekend twice a month. I will be booking with this hotel again.
