It is a very small quaint town, with some of the best places to eat. But what everyone should know most is their fabulous donut shop. The donut shop has a large variety of donuts. There is a flavor that is sure to please just about anyone. The best in my opinion was the Strawberry shortcake. The donut shop also offers sandwiches too. It is a beautiful place, the downtown area is thriving. Food and Walmart are all within 1 mile. Other attractions are 1 hour away. Unseasonably warm in February, but it happens everywhere. I enjoyed staying on Main Street in Buckhannon in the Bicentennial Inn. It is a quaint historic small town with a lot of charm. I had lunch with family at the B&L restaurant which had a delicious baked steak and the most friendly service. Twice during my stay I had family members join me for dinner at the 88 restaurant inside the inn. They too had delicious food with large portions and exceptional service. Buckhannon is a lovely place to stay if you are traveling through West Virginia. I highly recommend it. This is a clean, comfortable Inn. The decor is a bit dated but pleasant and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was good with the usual food items. Staff was peasant but busy . The only issue we had was that the juice machine at breakfast must have been having some kind of mechanical or refrigeration problem because the juices were all warm instead of cold!JillCanada
