The location was steps away from the famous Cliff Walk. The room <Beatrice’s> was spacious with superb views of the water from a comfy bow window. Wine hour was unexpected and perfect post mansion exploring. Breakfast was original and appealing. The house was updated with fine finishes (from the herringbone wool adorning the front salon walls, to the gilded age portraits of local ladies)- a lovely mix of modern and elegant antique furnishings.

The cutest small town any time of year. I've been in the summer when people fill the beaches and streets, and I've been in the winter when the buildings are decorated with lights and everyone hangs ornaments on a Christmas tree on the beach. Lots of places to walk and explore both along the water and inland, many historical and beautiful buildings to tour, vineyards and beaches to spend your time, and wonderful places to stay.

We loved it all, but especially the Red Parrot and Moorings where we had great food. Ma's Donuts on the outskirts of the town was excellent too, if no good for the waistline. Travel in town is easy out of season. We walked a lot and when driving easily found parking for free.

I only go to Newport for the Chowderfest in the spring and the seafood fest in the fall and it is a great place to hang out. So many great restaurants like the Black Pearl and Midtown Oyster Bar to name a couple...

Unfortunately, I reached the hotel on night of September 23rd whereas my booking Thro Booking.com was from September 24th
The hotel charged almost USD 1000 for one night, which I felt was terrible
Hotel was not full and charging more than double than per night rate of Booking.com left us with bad experience

Wonderful place to visit.
Wonderful place to visit.
When we bought the tickets to tour the mansion "The Breakers" we were told that we could upgrade our tickets to include more mansions when finished. For us, 1 mansion tour was sufficient, so I'm happy we didn't purchase a multi-tour upfront.
The Cliff Walk was a little more difficult than I had read in some reviews. We did the entire 3.5 miles & there were multiple spots of rocky terrain, not just one as I was expecting. However, it was worth it!
We timed the ocean drive for sunset & the views were gorgeous. There were multiple spots to stop to enjoy the view even more.
We got around Newport mostly by walking, it is do-able but many roads have no sidewalks, so if you need an even terrain, I wouldn't attempt walking everywhere.

Loved the Cliff walk, and the 40 steps, toured the Breakers and The Marble House. Wish we had planned for tea at the Marble House pagoda. The free trolley made getting around town. We ran out of time to do anything else.
You can't beat the location - a quiet, charming residential street just 1 block from the main street. Very quiet and you hardly knew anyone else was staying there. It was almost like having a private house to yourself. Everything recently renovated incl. the bathrooms. Well-decorated and very comfy beds. Linens and towels were very nice and above standard hotel grade. Lovely living room/lounge if you needed extra space. Staff returned messages promptly.
Probably the best view in the area! The rooms are spacious and very convenient for a family. There are also multiple pools, which is super unique to the area hotels/resorts, and it was a big difference maker for us! The location is also the starting point of the Newport walking life, but quiet and private at the same time. We loved our stay here and would highly recommend! We'll definitely be back 😊
Quaint and tastefully remodeled. The staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was the best. Since we were first-time travelers to Newport, Lisa informed us of nearby attractions, restaurants and local hot spots. The daily breakfast was gourmet status and the staff was able to accommodate a gluten allergy. Highly recommended the room with the balcony-beautiful views. Overall amazing stay!
The hotel location was excellent for enjoying the Newport waterfront. Super convenient to all the attractions, restaurants, shopping, bars, trolley tours, etc. Brian was extremely helpful in helping us to arrange transportation and make recommendations for dining, etc The hotel was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Our room was equipped with all the necessities.
The Viking made my family feel welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived. The warm welcome from the valet team was a nice start. We traveled with our puppy and the hotel staff could not have been more friendly to him. The rooms, lobby area, coffee bar, and amazing indoor pool area really added to our experience in Newport. We will definitely stay there again!
The hotel is near Washington square and within walking distance to everything which was great since there is a parking problem in Newport. It was convenient that the inn has parking spaces in the back and the staff at Cleveland Inn is very helpful and always in the Property in case there is a problem.
Room was generally ok - clean, comfortable and large enough for a family of three. Hotel staff were very friendly. The location was good - it is close to the Waterfront area where lots of restaurants are located, not far from the beach and the Tennis Hall of Fame museum.
The hosts were extremely helpful and catered very well for my gluten free allergy at breakfast. We were made to feel welcome and they were very helpful on advising where to go and what to see in the local area. The decor of the hotel was super, really refreshing.
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived, our room was very comfortable, particularly the bed. We had supper in the restaurant which was superb. The location on Thames street was very convenient for exploring Newport.
We will never stay anywhere else in Newport again, perfect location, great staff and such a welcoming place. Im hopeful next time the restaurant is open which is closed due to the pandemic. Absolutely a 5 star hotel!
Everything about this hotel is brilliant. And the Serenity Inn across the street for breakfast and those not travelling with four legged friends is also amazing.
All the photos you see online are 100% accurate.
great location, very clean, very cute room and common areas. roof deck and porch were awesome. very comfortable for our golden retriever too. staff were all very friendly. Best place we’ve stayed in Newport!
This is a wonderful oasis within walking distance to the main Newport attractions. Very comfortable and great outdoor space to enjoy either in the morning or late afternoon before heading out for the evening.
Tiny, old hotel with charm flair of Newport town, excellent price, clean rooms, good breakfast included, nice service. Well located with some nice restaurants around.
Luxury experience with meager off-season rates makes blending into Newport for a week in winter an annual event: two baths and two bedrooms at hotel room rates.
