This facility is managed by an older couple who are keeping their rates low for those of us with modest means, almost all of us. They don't spend their money unnecessarily, dated furnishings, old paint, etc. It looks a little shabby, but who cares. My home is a little shabby too, because I can't spend my money unnecessarily. They were super helpful, check in was a breeze, access to the colleges is great, Wifi was automatic, TV, microwave, refrigerator. I don't need flowers, or chocolate on my pillow, or scented hand soap. Low price and good access are worth a great deal more.

Although I did not stay in Hatfield for very long, I will say it seems to be a charming little town set in the foothills of the Berkshires. The trip down route 5 was delightful and the people I encountered were all very helpful and pleasant. I wish I had had time to eat at the Chowder House, because that looked very inviting and I have heard it got great reviews!

    Perfect location for all colleges.

Perfect location for all colleges. Set away but for the price it is just right. I only slept there and that was just what i needed. Nothing fancy and that is what you get. And clean. Bathroom could use new tiles and replacements but overall clean and shower head strong!

Charming old grist mill, now an inn, with an interesting history. Easy to find from Northampton with map or GPS. pleasant, helpful staff. made me feel welcome. I met interesting people in the dining room for breakfast: a man originally from South Africa visiting for the hot air balloon event nearby, and two couples visiting Northampton for the Yiddish library located there. I was travelling alone from Buffalo, NY, for a Northampton art gallery walk. while at the inn, checkout the gift area in the Inn. I bought the homemade goat hand lotion for my granddaughter. I even walked around the inn the morning I left and took pictures of the goats in the back yard (my 24 yr old granddaughter loves goats) Breakfast was included and delicious. Only downside was that the check-in was confusing. No person there and it was a self-check-in which took me awhile to figure out. I am planning to go again for more than one night this fall

The historic homes were beautiful, nestled along the streets en route to great restaurants, various venues for family entertainment and outdoor recreational facilities. It was easy to navigate to our desired destinations. We even found some great homemade ice cream to top off our evening after a great meal and a trip to the movies!

The room, though very small, was entirely adequate for me. This facility was my second choice after I returned to another place that wanted to charge me double what I had paid several nights earlier just because it was Saturday night. Refusing to pay that much at the Howard Johnsons Motel in So. Hadley I found this place, The Hatfield Inn. Though I was greeted by a single man who said he did not really know what he was doing, he completed the check in quickly and efficiently.

I was fascinated by the way they incorporated the old building into a modern hotel. The structure is exposed where possible and parts of old machinery cleverly used as décor. The units are well furnished and comfortable. Right off the end of the front deck is a beautiful water fall and bridge. The staff is very friendly had eager to help, and the café has great food and coffee. The Wi-Fi worked well and the TV had cable and Hulu.

My room smelled like a bowling shoe. The owner and his wife were plenty nice but I personally couldn't handle the mould in the bathtub or the crunchy carpet or the overwhelming thought that I was in some terrible B movie and about to be murdered. The place is just so rundown. But I do have to say they had excellent Wi-Fi which came in handy when I was looking for another hotel that felt less "murdery."

Very. Friendly owners, the room was cozy and comfortable. The bed was especially comfortable and it was very quiet. I just got out of the hospital Monday after spending 2 weeks there and this was the perfect place to rest and recover. Thank you Hatfield Inn.

It was convenient and the woman at check in was very friendly. I feel it was safe and I think they care about their customers however definitely not what I am used to as far as hotels/motels go. Very worn.
