Had a great experience at this Hampton. We usually stay at Hampton's when we travel because we can count on good accommodations and a pleasant stay and this one did not disappoint. It's also the closest hotel to the Murray campus so very convenient location. « less

They had our room ready and allowed us to check-in 1 1/2 hours before normal check-in time and even allowed us a late check-out the next day. The pool was actually warm, really warm for the kids and breakfast was well stocked. Highly Recommend. « less

I stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Murray, KY - checking in on 3-11-13 and checking out 3-14-13. (I had made advance reservations for this stay.) When I first arrived near noon on 3-11, I asked a desk clerk with General Manger Micha'el Dybas next to her if I could have a first floor room or a free room upgrade as I am a gold HHonors member. (There were no customers at the front desk other than myself.) As their response was no first floor rooms or upgrades were available, I took the 2nd floor room offered to me. I left the hotel and at 5:30 pm returned to the hotel's front desk. This time, the General Manager was there by himself and I asked him if I could have a portable refrigerator for my 2nd floor room. He told me no refrigerators were available. I left the front desk and about a half hour later returned when I saw a different employee at the front desk. His name is Kwame Duffy and he was very friendly and helpful. Upon asking him questions, he immediately told me I could have a first floor suite with a refrigerator and that the hotel had a lot of refrigerators in a room behind the front desk. He also said the hotel had plenty of rooms available and was not crowded. Bottom line, the General Manager was as unfriendly a person as Kwame Duffy was friendly. First of all, thank you for your review of your past stay at our hotel. I apologize that we were unable to accommodate you in the room you requested when you first arrived to our hotel. I assure you that we do everything we can to provide our guests the room they request however, at times we do not have the same availability due to guests extending their stays with us. I sincerely apologize if this may have caused you any inconveniences.
Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience and do hope that the next time you travel to the area you will consider staying with us again.

There are several reasons why I could not give this hotel a higher rating. The walls need paint. Carpets are showing wear. There were several caulking issues in the shower with mold and rust apparent. The breakfast area is nice but not being maintained. Tables were dirty. Bread was stale and eggs all dried out. The positives are good location, quiet rooms and great bed. With a little more attention to maintenance this could be a nice hotel. There are not many choices in Murray but I will try something else on my next trip. « less

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay at our hotel. We always appreciate hearing from our guests - including when comments help identify ways we can improve. I am however very sorry that you were disappointed with some aspects of your stay.
I sincerely apologize if you were disappointed in regards finding some issues that needed to be taken care of in our hotel. I thank you for bringing the issues you mentioned in your review to my attention so that I can personally follow-up with our maintenance staff. The hotel does have renovation projects scheduled for 2013 and your suggestions will help guide us in the direction we need to take. We strive on providing our guests with an exceptional stay and we will do everything we need to do to ensure that this issue be resolved. I am always looking for reviews to provide insight into our guests experience and I will keep your review in mind.
