The name now is Kings Inn.
A trip down memory lane. Pretty run down, but full of nostalgia. Cottage cheese ceiling, wallpaper with a floral border at the top, ancient Mediterranean furniture like that in my 1966 apartment. An old Zenith TV! Two remotes, one to turn it on, the other to change channels. 5-light chandelier with only one working bulb. Closet is a small alcove with swinging saloon-style louvered doors, the knob missing on one. Only three hangers. To be honest, I easily can see Mad Men’s Sally Draper, five years in the future, spending a sordid night here with her prom date.
The front desk clerk was cheerful and accommodating. Complimentary WiFi, complimentary continental breakfast brought to your door. A small refrigerator and microwave. Weight Watchers meets here Wednesdays. Easy access to I-395 on Rte. 12. The cost was low, the room was clean, and we were treated well by staff. « less

We booked three rooms for one night as we were in town for a wedding. All 3 rooms were dirty enough that no one wanted to sleep under the covers. There was mold in bathrooms and hairs found in 2 of the rooms. One room on the ground floor had a nice view of the pond but the window had something on the glass that you couldn't see thru. When people in the room above us came in, we were wakened by the loud creaking of their floor and I was concerned about the ceiling coming down on top of us. The handles of 2 of the dresser drawers were broken, the pillows and mattresses were old and thin and there were stains on the carpets. My daughter-in-law was rudely asked by hotel staff if she had "trashed the room" when checking out. The Mexican restaurant was good but the hotel should skip the meager free breakfast and spend some money cleaning and updating the place. « less

If we could have avoided this hotel, we would have. We were in town for a wedding, and it was the only place to stay. If you can stay anywhere else, I would.
We had a no smoking room, and like another reviewer noted, there was an ashtray on the table in the room, and a distinct smell of smoke in the halls. The mattress was flat and lumpy, the sheets were thin and would not stay on the bed, the blanket had a cigarette hole in it and half the light bulbs in the room were either missing or burnt out. The bathroom also left a lot to be desired. The wall by the shower was peeling away from the studs in the wall. The entire shower area was covered in mold and dark black stains.
While the hotel needs updating, it was not an issue for us. What is an issue is when an innkeeper doesn't adhere to basic cleanliness and invest in their property appropriately.
I would not stay here again. Seriously. I'd drive an extra 30 miles to stay somewhere else next time. « less

"This has to be the easiest reservation I have ever encountered, as far as a group reservation anyway. When I made group reservations for my other daughter's wedding in Houston a few years ago, it was a nightmare! Wish I would have known about you then." Carolyn H. - Boston, MA
