I was married on the beach at Shepard’s in April 2013. The rooms are great, the staff is friendly. The wedding planner was great. The reception was held in the Wave night club and everything was decorated perfectly. The food is excellent. I if you are looking to get married on a beach this is the place to be.
I am sure by now you have read some reviews about the noise in the night club until 2am. Well, it’s all true. If you are planning on going to bed at 9pm you might want to stay somewhere else. (Or ask for a room on the 6th floor). If you plan on hanging at the tiki bar or Wave nightclub until all hours of the night you will have a blast. There was construction going on while I was staying there but it didn’t bother anyone. There are many things to do in walking distance. Shopping, restaurants and Pier 60 are all very close. A huge plus staying at Shepard’s is free valet parking with free in and out service. The other smaller places in the area charged around $10 a day. The pool was under construction as well but we were given a bracelet to use the Holiday Inn pool right next door. Ocean view is breath taking. « less

I have have stayed at this hotel for the past 3 years in a row with no issues i always look forward to staying there. I recommened my close friends to shephards they were suppose to be staying in a studio king room with a full kitchenette like the website says we have stayed in this room each time we have stayed there with no problem. My friends get down there expecting to be in a studio king with a fridge, and stove the full kitchen what they paid for And they walk into a economy room with a mini fridge and a microwave!!!!!! When you pay almost $900 for a certain room and get there and they put you were they want to that is not right! The view was HORRIBLE below the room was a large trash bin with construction peices in it. I understand that they are remodeling but they should have that removed from the grounds. When you go on vacation on a budget and plan to prepare your own meals then you get there and theres nothing to cook on or with that is a issue. This has been a nightmare for my friends they ended up getting kicked out of the resort with NO refund!!!!!!!!!!!! Once my husband heard what they have done he called down there and the receptionis HUNG UP on him after telling him that she didnt have time for that. that is so unprofessional they cannot do that what ever happend to taking care of the customer?????? They could have got them into another room they could have worked something out. But instead they kick them out on the street 1000 miles from home. This is unexecptable and so unprofessional I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!!!!! « less

We came for a family vacation with our daughter and the male staff spent more time hitting on her blatantly than paying attention to their jobs, the rooms are nice however the bedspreads have tears in them,It's under construction so we got to :enjoy: jack hammering by day and at night the night club downstairs slammed in our 3rd floor room passed 2:30am, the night before were drunken fights and people arguing loud in the hallway and outer balcony til after 2am. there has been no sleep or enjoyment here.we even got a different room than we asked for. we requested facing the street, we got the side with a view of the neighboring building's wall,by day we were too tired from lack of sleep to enjoy anything, « less

I went to stayed in a Residence inn with two friends, but one was local so he suggested us to go to Shephard's it was a Sunday and OMG it was like what you see in a Spring Break movie. It was kind of wild, the music, they have a stage right by the beach that the lights bright the water so you can be in a warm water while enjoying everything. Sundays I will not recommend it for kids any other day it's perfect for families due the water is right there. You have your private beach, not like other hotels in the area that you have to use your own car or a shuttle provided by the hotel to make it to the beach and you have to walk like half mile, while Shepard's no. The food is amazing, they have a buffet and all is good. The service so over expectation, I was surprise because from the outside the Shephard's doesn't look like a 5 star hotel, but those rooms were incredible and the suites you can go with other party and it's two private rooms with their own bathroom and one even have a jacuzzi! « less

This is a very nice Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Only down side was band in bar playing until 2:30 in the morning. Highly recommend this hotel if staying in Clearwater Beach FL. This hotel had a great breakfast buffet. We attended a wedding at the hotel and the dinner buffet was outstanding with Prime Rib, Ham, Lobster, and all kinds of salad and other items to accompany dinner. The bar had reasonably priced drinks and a large variety. « less
