We stayed at the Custom for 1 night on our way to Mexico. It is in a great location near the airport and it also have some shops where you can get a coffee or have dinner/drinks. The staff were really friendly at check in. The room was fairly average with no mini bar but they did have an area on our floor where there were vending machines if you did want to get any drinks or snacks. Quite fine for a 1 night stay though.
My only complaint would be that we told reception on arrival that we would catch the 6.30am free shuttle to the airport and she said she would would make a note of it. We got down for the shuttle and apparently we were 2 minutes late (that is debatable) and they left without us. A phone call to us to see where we were would have been good. « less

I've stayed in this hotel for one night as a stop over. Currently LAX doesn't allow passengers to sleep inside airport so that I have to find a hotel outside. Below is the pro and cons.
Pro: 1. Free shuttle in between LAX and hotel. 2. Friendly staff. They managed to provide me with free breakfast although it's not included in the rate. 3. Newly decorated room. Quite fashion business style.
Con: 1. Not as cheap as I expected. But given the service and room condition, I don't complain. This is LA anyway. 2. Pick up shuttle is on call. But it won't keep you waiting for long.

Stayed at the Custom after 3 weeks in an RV travelling from NYC.... so we might've been biased a little... but we loved this place! The Desk Staff were excellent( over & above the call of duty!) & we got a free upgrade (we were on our honeymoon) which made our internet bargain rate even better! This is exactly our sort of hotel, quirky design, great food on site if needed & a pool! Had our first experience of valet parking too which you don't really expect at such a bargain price.... (not with the 32ft RV but with a shiny convertible Mustang that we had picked up that day!) It's close to LAX but we didn't hear any aircraft noise when inside the hotel! « less

(These amenities aren't necessarily available in our Deluxe category of guestrooms.) Guests are welcome and encouraged to upgrade based on availability to these premium rooms for as little as $19/day, based on availability.

This is a fine hotel, very convenient for the airport and the freeways. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Ryan went out of his way to check the traffic towards Las Vegas when we were leaving. We did not eat in the hotel, so I can't comment. We had a good breakfast in a nearby traditional diner, KJ's, just past the Ralph's supermarket and the bowling alley. I would stay here again. Parking on the street was not a problem. « less

This was my first time getting a hotel in LA as I used to live there and I also have friends there. I went with my girlfriend (who's never been to LA) to show her around. Though we got there early, we were able to drop off our bags and go start our time in LA right away. Jasmine took very good care of us. Getting back to the hotel, it was great to do the valet service and not have to worry about parking (especially in LA). There is a $20 fee a night for it, but it is worth it and you can always split it with whoever you go with if you'd like. Jasmine provided us with a map as well as recommendations for the next day for tandum bike riding (which we should have taken but went to one that was advertised as being better - we learned our lesson - listen to Jasmine, she knows what she's talking about :) ). We made sure we left the rooms fairly clean but it was always fresh when we got back. We got a queen bed and it was nice to have the just right amount of room for the both of us. The free wifi was great as my girlfriend had some work to finish. The safe was great place to put any valuables you might have, and you're the one who puts in a code so you know it's safe. There is a flat screen tv which you can watch movies or tv if you wish. If you're looking for a modern-style place with a great view, great location, and great services, this is the place for you. « less
