Booked this hotel in conjunction with a conference I was attending. Upon checking in, found the thermostat was not functioning. When I tried to call the front desk, discovered the phone did not work. The phone was replaced with a working phone, but the thermostat never functioned correctly for my entire stay. First night found pubic hairs in my bed sheet. Then discovered the hand towel I had been using had a pink stain (lipstick?). I reported this to the front desk the following morning. The manager in duty did not offer an apology...referred me to housekeeping (she was completely ambivalent and gave me the "not my job" routine). I asked for my room to be completely cleaned within the hour and was told it would be. Went back an hour and a half later and nothing had been done. Spoke with the director of housekeeping, who assured me the room would be cleaned within 30 minutes. It took another two hours.
Wifi did not work correctly for my entire stay. Two one-hour long visits from "engineering" (really untrained maintenance) determined the issue was with my room modem. One would think the fix would be to simply swap the modem, but they could not do so, as their local Internet service provider would not provide service without a serial number of the new modem, and it was after hours.
Finally, there was a grade school cheerleader competition in town at the same time as my conference. Instead of placing me with other conference attendees, they put me in the block of cheerleaders. Needless to say, there was no rest for this business traveler.
Was told I'd be provided a gift certificate for my troubles upon checkout. When I checked out, I was told this was not ready and would be mailed to me. Two weeks later and am still waiting...at this point, I don't care since I would never stay here again anyway. « less

We were in town for a convention, this hotel was on the list of places to stay. Check-in was fast, wait for elevator was not. We were on the 23rd floor and it was a very long wait! Room was nice, bed sheet had a stain, we placed it on the floor. Bathroom was clean, should install a fan for when the shower is used. We ordered room service, and received our food very fast, the prices were average. When it was time for bed (1am), there was some activity in the halls , but it ceased. All night however there was a humming noise, it was the elevator, we were about 4 doors away and you could hear it though the air vent. I did see another customer on here complain about it, and they were told they were not sure what the noise was. I'm telling you it was the elevator! Check out was quick and easy, valet was great. You should NOT charge for wifi!!!! I was a little upset after paying over 200.00 for my room and I couldn't use my iPad !!! « less

I arrived at the hotel after a long trip to find the hotel gym shuts at 7 PM on Sundays. When I inquired as to the availibility of other gyms that would be open, I was transferred to the Biltmore which kindly advised me that they have 24 hour gym acccess but only for guests. When I called back to the front desk to ask for other options, the hostess curtly said there were none. I asked if someone could open the gym for me to use a cardio machine and she said not possible. Having had enough of my quesitons, which I can only guess were bothering her, she asked, "Is that all sir?" What a terrible way to care for a guest. I had booked two more stays at Omni whihc I am now chancelling for other better service options in Providence. « less

We stayed here recently in a bloc of rooms reserved for a family funeral weekend. The location is excellent, as is the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. We had a corner room that was spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom was fine, and I was pleased to note that in the tub shower there was a discrete hold bar and a non skid surface in the tub. I mention this because the main competition hotel in this luxury class in Providence does not have these safety features. My only quibble is that you must read your checkout bill carefully. There were several mistakes on ours, such as double charging for valet parking. Also, the wifi is not free, and if you have both an IPad and smart phone, you pay the daily fee of nearly $10 for each! So, while the room rates are reasonable for a fine hotel, there are unreasonable and picky costs that they should rethink. « less

The hotel in itself is a very nice place. Decent accommodations for the price/location and friendly service. However, every night in our room there was a constant "noise" (almost a drumming sound) that reverberated through the bed that made it difficult to sleep. I was there over a week on business and the noise was there all week long. Hotel staff could explain what it was nor did they offer any remedy. If it weren't for this I would have gave them 4 stars instead of 3. « less
