Recently I went to gamble at the Isle and was very disappointed! I played for several hours and didn't even earn 100 points. I asked the Director of Marketing about the points/comps and she told me that you had to put $30 in to a video poker machine to earn 1 point; are you serious? Even in Vegas at the MGM resorts; video poker is $10 played to earn a point. Their new bar is nice but you don't have to rip off your loyal customers to pay it off in a year! The Isle has always(until now) been my choice to gamble at in Blackhawk but not anymore! Don't even consider wasting your money here!
The buffet is just as bad as the gambling! If you try to get lunch there, you have have leftover breakfast as well as a few items to choose from for lunch. My comp was for a free buffet ($18.99) and I had two pieces of chicken and a salad. They will not get any of my business again! « less

Although the place is starting to show a little age, the Isle hotel is still a very comfortable and clean hotel to visit and relax in. The casino offers a good variety of slots and table games, tho, we were disappointed to find out they took out 'pai gao', one of our favorites. The buffet ranks second to The Lodge hotel/Casino in town, but very tasty and comes with a wide variety of choices. Hotel has valet parking available. All hotel and casino staff and employees are very friendly and helpful. « less

My wife, and I decided to swing through Blackhawk on the way back from our sons house in Denver. We have been to blackhawk many times but not for the last 10 years. We should have gone somewhere else on that trip. Our stay was booked into the Isle hotel with a pet room was booked online. Upon check-in I was informed I had to come back in 15 minutes, the front desk was in the middle of shift change. 15 minutes later I found out that the pet room I had reserved was not available, the Isle hotel does not allow pets. The front desk clerk on duty at 4pm (2nd shift) was helpful and changed someone who was in a pet room at the Lady Luck and found us a pet room. A mere $230 pet deposit was all that was required for our pomeranian. We were traveling in a van that was too tall for any parking in the structures, and the structures are literally the only parking in the town. Blackhawk is in a deep narrow canyon and every inch is built casino. After about an hour of circling ther town, checking out the RV parking lot which is at the top of the mountain about 4 miles away(no shuttles) I finally wedged my van in by a dumspster and the valet gave me a tag to keep it from being towed. The room was okay, but there were old pet stains on the rug which makes it difficult to keep new pet stains from forming, but we managed to walk our dog on the roof parking lot as the only thing close to a pet area. Apparently, we weren't the first to realize this, since the 5th floor parking garage was pretty well covered in pet waste and trash all along the snow drifted edges. The casino was very nice, very busy since it was St Patricks weekend, the food was good everywhere we ate, and other than the stains in the "pet room" everywhere we went was clean and well maintained. I would stay here again, but I would leave the dog at home and drive a vehicle shorter than 6 feet. « less

We were pleasantly surprised by the nice room. Large cushions, comfortable beds, enough room to move around, even with four adults. Clean and warm on a snowy day. The alarm in the room next door went off and within about 5 minutes of calling down to the front desk, the alarm was off and they couldn't have been nicer.
Calypso's food was good for both dinner and breakfast. Plenty to eat whether you like to stuff your face or eat healthy.
Even though the Isle is at the end of the casino row, the shuttle took us everywhere we needed to go. Nice stay, we'd come back. « less

Had a great stay at the Isle. It was easy to park inside. Easy to get out. Room was clean.Food at calypso's was good and quick to get seated. The slots did not pay big.But kept my wife and I entertained for hours. We basically drove up from Denver to have a clean safe place to stay. And it was that. « less
