Nice modern Garden Inn built around 2009. Good size rooms with plenty of space, King Beds, comfortable sitting area plus work desk. Bathrooms only have walk in showers, no bathtubs but given US size tubs we hardly noticed! Plenty of large bath and hand towels provided enough for three guests. The room had a large size flat screen TV, empty fridge for own drinks etc and a microwave. Iron and ironing board and an onsite own laundry facility at $1 and drying also $1. Free broadbacnd wifi 2mbts so quite adequate. No in room safe though. Pool and guest laundry area on ground floor. Hotel is situated adjacent to some nice apartments presumably used by students from Virginia Tech which is about a mile down the road. BBQ facilities externally in car park area which is very nicely landscaped, and an adequate bar and restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Enough of a menu to suffice for a two night stay but probably not longer. Hot Breakfast cooked to order for only $8.75 pp. A real bargain and if you book the room and breakfast package with room its about 50% cheaper so go for that!! Staff are very welcoming and pleasant. Though when asked what to do in the area didnt seem to have much idea! Their is the Virginia Tech campus thats worth a visit and also the old Smithfield plantation House Estate which is just off the campus and is just within walking distance of the hotel which is well worth a visit. The whole are around Blacksburg is delightful countryside and there are plenty of scenic drives available. The hotel offers a great deal for the price charged and I would thoroughly recommend it. « less

This was the second time I have stayed at the Hilton Garden in Blacksburg. It's been great both times. The staff is polite, the rooms are nice and clean and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. Plus, they have really good cookies in the afternoons :) Who can argue with a delicious cookie in the afternoon?? « less

The restaurant closes at 10 PM so if you arrive late you may wish to have dinner before getting to the hotel. I have not tried their breakfast but it was fairly full in the mornings at the restaurant. « less
