I'm sorry to be so harsh in my review, but this was unacceptable. I have stayed here before because it is so close to the Navy base. I got in late on Monday night and before I went to sleep I noticed the state of the bathtub. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned from the previous guest. There was thick soap scum on the shower curtain with a bit of mold. There was a slight grime on the wall with a faint impression of grimy fingerprints. It looked like the person before me used blue shampoo because it was dripping down the side of the wall and I could tell where the bottle was. I even took pictures because I was pretty horrified. I showered standing on a towel the next morning, without touching anything else. This was even worse than the time that our room freezer stopped working and we lost all of our food. The front desk replaced our little freezer, but we had to buy more food for our family. The other thing this time was that I placed the cooler on low fan, but after a while it switched up to high fan and wouldn't switch back. The curtain kept blowing up until I put a pillow to keep some privacy in my room. I told the front desk about my shower this time, but they only said that a new crew of housekeepers were being trained and apologized. I don't care how convenient this location is anymore; I am not staying here again. « less

Hotel location was perfect to meet our needs. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Water temp and pressure was great! Tub needed refinishing or replacing, otherwise a very comfortable stay.

This place was okay. The positives were that it was clean and my non-smoking room was really non-smoking with no smoking rooms nearby. The hotel is conveniently located 20 mins from downtown Charleston. The negatives are that the area where the hotel is located is a little dicey, i.e. the looked lobby at night with the sliding drawer check in. The hotel is very old with nothing updated. They even have the old dark printed bedspreads that hide all dirt and stains if there are any so you can't tell if it is clean or not. The carpet was suspect because it was so old. It may have been fine, but I wasn't going to walk on it with my bare feet. I would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends. « less
