My friend booked this room online and went for it based on price. What a mistake! Firstly, it's in the skanky end of the strip, with pawn brokers and adult toy/video/book stores everywhere. Yeah, I know it's Vegas but the area around the hotel made me uncomfortable to even walk alone outside. And I ain't no shy girl!
The wife of the manager or owner was pretty bossy and abrupt. A passive aggressive woman. Our room...well, let me say that I should have slept in the car. Upon opening the door, it smelled like a room that had been smoke in for 30 years and just last week they cleaned it. Grey dirt on the ceiling from the fan above the beds, grunge in the switchplate of the bathroom and water and mold stains in the ceiling and upper wall around the shower. The air conditioner worked but the levers that direct the flow of air were broken.
I returned home the next day with MYSTERIOUS ITCHY BUG BITES on my arm and leg. I'm sure they came from this skanky hotel room. God help me if they're bed bugs!! They're swollen and nasty looking. Gross!
The pool was sad and empty even though it was over 90 degrees. Noisy to have cars driving and parking just outside your door. What a dive.
I thought Howard Johnson stood for quality. What a disappointment! « less

Our stay at this particular hotel was good. The registration went very smooth and the gentlemen helping at the desk was very nice, and helpful. The rooms were ok, it had coffee makers and a big sreen TV, the only down side was that the mattresses made a lot of noise because it still had the plastic bag. Other than that I would of gave a better rate. « less
