The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The room had apparently had a leak in the roof at some time and there was a stain on the ceiling but the alarming part was the black mold growing from it. One of our children has asthma. At least I was glad we could see the mold and it wasn't hiding in the walls and know it was there so we could do something about it. « less

I've stayed in Super 8 hotels before and never have I been dissappointed like I was on this stay. I don't but the brand down but this particular location in Southaven, MS I will never be a guess in again nor would I recommed to anyone. While the staff seemed friendly, their understanding of my questions seemed to be lacking. I will blame that on the difference in racial backgrounds. We checked in at a decent time and left right out. Upon actually entering the room it smelled as if it was a previous smoking room that they had recently converted into nonsmoking - thus the smell of deordorizer trying to cover smoke. I overcame that. I carry my own spray. But the dissappointment really came when there was a roach crawling by the microwave. My friend killed it and told me to go to sleep. I could not sleep for feeling like something crawling on me. Call it psychological if you like - but me and the creepy crawlies don't mix. Upon checkout I mentioned it to the clerk at the front desk and he said thank you come again. Again, based on them being foreign could have been the language barrier. I ended up having to ask for a receipt three times before he caught on and gave it to me. A receipt is something that should not ever have to be asked for. I am one to check my credit billings also. I dont understand why there were two seperate holds for the room charge placed on my card. I stayed on a saturday - luckily this was resolved by Tuesday midday. « less

I was supposed to receive a discounted rate for a particular business. Management refused to honor the agreement. The first room I was assigned to, the bathroom had strands of hair all over. In the second room, one of the beds had blood-stained sheets. I had to ask for replacement sheets and make the bed myself. We were afraid to shower in either bathroom. I brought bleach cleaner and still did not trust stepping into the tub. There was also an overwhelming odor in the hotel that attached itself to whatever and whoever spent time there. The employees were nice, but this was not enough to outweigh the overall experience coupled with the stay being overpriced. « less

If I had not reserved and paid for the two rooms I had, I would have left. It was the closest Hotel with smoking rooms to my family.And also spur of the moment as I could not do a lot of researh since we were there for a funeral. We had to buy air freshener, it smelled so bad, body odor and filth, not Indian spices.. Horrible dishonest customer service. Carpet and blinds stained, lamps full of dust, insulation or something was blowing out of AC. Ice machine did not work. Breakfast was terrible. Definitely will tell all I know to never stay there. And the manager/owner made a point of telling me they are not responsible for anything that happens or is wrong with the property, « less
