Will absolutely consider this hotel chain again after our experience this time around. Raffles is close to but far enough from the airport & conveniently located near the historical areas in Dubai & the illustrious Sheikh Zayed Road which is a plus for all sight-seeing ventures. Your eyes will delight at the Egyptian decor from the ornate pillars & statues, radiant light fixtures, vivid colors, & spacious feel of the hotel. The service is exemplary from the moment you arrive out front to your butler bringing your bags & giving you a tour of your room to help familiarize you with the amenities. The concierge effortlessly helped us arrange tours & directed us to the Metro 2 blocks away. It's connected to the Wafi City Mall for shopping & also situated on Big Bus Tour route so nothing required besides walking out of the front door to catch it or be dropped off. The pool area is well-kept & a welcome respite considering Dubai heat in May. There's an onsite gym which has plenty of machines for cardio or weight training. The standard room is suite-like with an open floorplan for the bedroom living room combo & includes all that you need for a comfortable stay. The only negatives experienced are that the mattress was a bit hard for my tastes, the stall shower leaked water onto the bathroom floor even with door closed + towel on the floor, & lastly the in-room lighting system is overly complicated for turning on/off lights for certain areas of the room. But the view from our balcony says it all & we were dazzled by the bright lights of downtown Dubai nightly when relaxing after a busy day with a cocktail...
****As an aside...there are 2 types of hotels in Dubai, city & beach & we chose city & couldn't have worked out better or been happier. We considered beach hotels too but after visiting the area shopping it's my opinion that the beach hotel area/Dubai Marina (still an impressive must-see area though) is too far removed from downtown Dubai or the cultural neighborhoods & you will expend tons of money on cab fare (or other transportation modes) & valuable time going to/from since it's at the edges of the city**** « less

it is an Egypt-like architecture building with very pleasant garden, outdoor pool, restaurant, and all kinds of hotel amenities. all with a superb easy going service. the flavor is that of the action of Dubai with many many interesting foreigners, some elegant locals in white (males) or dark (females) dresses, and a discrete population of foxes animating the night of the hotel. I was ere for business and turned out to be a very nice stay. I suggest it. « less

It was my third stay at Raffles Dubai and the attention to detail was so great that I found relevant to share my experience.
From the Check in experience, that goes so smoothly, you are escorted to your room by someone from the front who only cares about your comfort. Your luggage are already there, which is rare… Rooms are very spacious from the first category (about the size of a 2 bedroom apartment here in Paris). Cleaned twice day. Your personal belongings are nicely put back in place. A greeting card is welcoming you almost every day with some delicacies. Lights/AC system is so user friendly that you never have to look for the right button of the last lamp to be turned off!
It seems that nothing will never go wrong at Raffles Dubai and this is exactly what I look for when I travel.
Last, Tomo, the Japanese restaurant is exceptional. « less
