This is an excellent place to stay and relax. Away from all the pollution, city life, etc. Very calm. We got the room the lakeside. It was very nice. The only downside is, if you want to get out, you have to drive at least 3 miles to get to the stone mountain park entrance. The rooms were clean and the staff were very nice. Enough parking. Close to stone mountain park activities. Will definitely return. I believe the view would have been nice if we were here a month before (Sept.) for fall colors. « less

As a return guests to this hotel I have never been so disappointed. After a long trip we get in the room to relax....pull back the duvet and the sheet has blood spots. Not dried stained blood. We were moved to a different room. Then after checking out on Sunday I get an email on Monday saying I was being charged a pet fee....I travel with a service animal which I notified the front desk of before check in. I wasn't asked for his documentation. I was there 2 says and no one ever asked. Now I am in the process of having the charges reversed which is causing me time that I shouldn't have to waste. « less

Spent 3 nights in this absolutely gorgeous facility. We had a balcony room right on the lake with fantastic views! Very beautiful large rooms.
Only complaint was that the hotel lobbies and hallways were FREEZING! April temps were a little chilly and having a cold hotel uncomfortable.
Also felt that for the size of this hotel, a few more dining options were needed. Restaurant only offered buffets for 3 meals a day and a little pricey if large meals not wanted. Downstairs lounge/bar offered a sandwich/salad menu that was good with reasonable prices but menu not real large and after eating there 3 times, looking for a change. There was a Starbucks in lobby offering pastries and salad.
Overall, this is a great facility that we'd stay at again. We did eat at the Commons Restaurant at the golf club one evening and food was good and sat on the lake with inside or outside dining options. « less

I had an excellent stay and this place has now become the standard for which I expect all other hotels to attain. The pictures of this hotel look exactly like what you get. The staff could not have been more helpful. The second day there they said Miss....and my last name how is your stay. I was blown away that they remembered my last name after checking in how many toastmaster and girl scout people that weekend. Well the breakfast buffet was excellent it did cost money but hey I was on vacation and I was happy to pay for excellent food. There is a lobby cafe if you don't want to spend 20 dollars a person. SPEND IT you are on vacation!!! The waitresses so kind. They would say things like see you tomorrow like they couldn't wait to see us again. We had a late supper in the lounge and the food was very good. In fact it might have been the best burger I have ever had and I couldn't believe that because I am from Iowa where we are known for excellent burgers. My man wants me to mention the wonderful meatball sandwich he had in the lounge two nights in a row. He loved it. The valet people were excellent as well as the bell hops that helped us carry our luggage on the way out. I enjoyed the pool on a Sunday morning and I was the only one there except for the maintenance crew and they were very polite. I used the indoor pool and it was nice and warm. I must mention the Marriott bed. I went through 8 hotels on this vacation. This bed had magical powers. I was asleep and couldn't seem to stop. I don't remember ever sleeping so restfully. I actually looked at the brochure to buy one of these beds. Now to the trustworthy part...I accidently left my purse in the room. We checked out and moved on to the next stops on our trip. When I finally figured out it was missing we called and the housekeeping staff had brought it and they had it locked up. The staff said a manager would return my call as there was only one person that had access to the lost and found items. He did return my call promptly he fedexed the purse back to me it arrived back home before we did and everything was inside. Nothing was missing. I had checks, debit cards in there, even gift cards and I have to say I could not have been more pleased. I am going to say that I stayed at 4 other Marriotts during my stay. None of them compared to this one. Book this one don't bother with the others in the area, Stay several days. My only complaint was that my cell phone service was a littly iffy here. I have Verizon. It took awhile to send pictures to the folks back home of my wonderful time here. « less

Very nice hotel. Lobby on 4th floor. I didn't realize this until I got on the elevator and I had pushed the up button. Since we were on the 3rd floor, I needed the down button!
The meals for the whole conference were the best they have had in many, many conferences, according to my husband. The meeting rooms were very nice also.
I do not attend the meetings with him so I have plenty of time that I need to keep myself busy. This hotel is near Stone Mountain. I spent the whole day there, climbing to the top of the mountain. There are several things to do in Stone Mountain park that do not cost anything. Also available is a $28 dollar day pass that gets you on everything except the duck boats. Tickets are available at the gift shop in the lobby.
The hotel has two nice pools. One inside and one outside. There are also 3 different hiking trails on the grounds. I hiked on 2 of them.
Since I do not attend the conference dinners with my husband, I decided to try their Friday night seafood buffet. It was fantastic. Let me see if I can remember everything on the buffet. They had two choices of soup that night. One a manhattan style clam chowder and the other a chicken noodle. There was a nice salad bar with 3 different choices of lettuce along with all the fixings that you would want to add on top. Along with the salad bar was also a fresh fruit bar. It had everything from blueberries, strawberries, cantelope, honey dew, grapes and I can't remember what else. They had wonderfully seasoned peal and eat boiled shrimp with all the fixings you can imagine to go along with that. (capers, onions, etc) . On the hot bar they had Rice and seafood etouffee, fried catfish, fried shrimp, baked chicken, roasted potatoes, roasted vegetables and two other dishes that I can not for the life of me remember what they were, but I know they were delicious! Then they had another hot bar where there was crab legs and prime rib available. The dessert bar was also fantastic! I know I won't remember everything that was on there as I was too full after eating dinner to be able to enjoy the dessert bar, but I do remember they had a hot fudge cake with ice cream, red velvet cake, cupcakes, several different, what I would call french pastries, cookies and a whole bunch of other stuff that I can't remember. All this for $29. I could have made my whole dinner on the peel and eat shrimp. It was so flavorful.
Afterwards, while I was enjoying my one french pastry, a lemon delight, the waitress offered coffee. When I told her that I was not a coffee drinker, she said they also had hot tea available. I chose to have a cup of tea. It was the perfect ending to a very delicious meal.
There is also a coffee shop area in the lobby. They serve breakfast, sandwiches, snacks, pastries and specialty coffee (lattes, etc).
The only thing on the whole trip that was disappointing was the fact that they put us in a room with two double beds. Not queen size, but double. We had requested a king size bed and had made our reservations months ago, so I was a little perturbed about that, but in the end, I probably slept better in my own bed than I have in years sharing a bed with hubby! LOL
If you are looking for a hotel close to everything in Atlanta, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a wonderful hotel for relaxing, then this is the place. « less
