Reserved room well in advance without checking Trip Advisor. Big mistake! Was checked in after arranging late arrival but reservations were messed up. Finally after standing there for extended timer., I was given a room and I went to the room only to be shocked when I opened the door to a room that was obviously never cleaned after previous guest. Used bed with it left just unchanged or made up. Used towels all over floor in bathroom floor. Called front desk and they sent someone with keys to different room. The suite looked like a room from a run down Motel 6. Old nasty looking carpets and run down furniture. Smelled like seedy hotel that rents by the hour. Definitely needs some major renovation. « less

PROS: - Free hot breakfast was one of the better ones (compared to other free breakfasts from a hotel)
CONS: - Toilet hadn't been cleaned properly (urine stain on seat) - Holes in the carpet, carpet looked dirty - Light fixture in bathroom was cracked / missing a corner - Faucet in kitchenette area sprayed anyone standing in front of it - Mattress offered inadequate support - Lamp at breakfast table (in room) flicked on / off at will - Dark corridor at back of building - Exterior entrance to rooms - Hard to make left turn on busy Washington Road to exit the property
Additionally, as I was checking out, I was asked if everything in the room was okay. As I started to explain, the front desk phone rang. The person behind the desk grabbed the phone, while I was mid sentence (he didn't ask me to hang on or anything). It was very rude. Then after he finished the call, he didn't follow up to inquire about what might have been wrong with the stay... he simply moved to the next item involved in hotel check-out.
So then I reminded him... "as I was saying..." and proceeded to tell him only about 2 of the items on the "cons" list above. He laughed as I explained the broken kitchenette faucet. I feel bad for the next person who gets a face full of water when they start to make their coffee... because based on the attitude of the staff, it seems unlikely the issue will be looked at.
The kicker? This was supposedly an "upgraded" room. I don't even want to think about what their standard room experience would be like. « less

Hotel has very poor management. We were given a room that has issues with the door....it did not lock. I went to the front desk to report it and the attendant already knew about it, so why did they rent it to to me? We had no hot water, the floor wasn't vacuumed, the lamps didn't work, the refrigerator smelled, and the sofa bed had no sheets. We will never stay there again! We paid $147 for the wknd and was offered $10 refund for our inconvenience! What a joke!! Never ever stay at this hotel. « less

We reserved a room through the Choice 800 line, and soon received an email with directions to the hotel. WRONG directions - we were coming in on I-20W but the directions for East and West arrival were switched. So I called the hotel and the girl at the front desk couldn't even tell me which way I SHOULD have turned off I-20. (And we were on a very busy highway in rush hour - color me unhappy.) Finally found the hotel by using my phone's GPS, checked in and was pleased that they upgraded us to a suite, to make up for the bad directions. Then I learned that the pet-friendly rooms are on the THIRD FLOOR. Huh??? Third floor??
But a lovely custodian got the hotel cart and helped us get our stuff up to the room. Thank you, Greg Gibson!
Ok, and the room was lovely - until we realized there were NO towels in the room. Not a one. Phone call to the front desk and a 20-minute wait, and we had towels.
The hotel had a cocktail hour - wine, beer, soft drinks. That was nice. And the hot breakfast in the morning was very good (excellent eggs and sausage, great biscuits, and other stuff) although I wish they'd offered one non-sugar cereal.
The outside porch leading to our room needed a good cleaning, and there was one plop of dog poop on the steps - not surprising. THIRD floor???
So - a very mixed bag. The staff members were all very friendly and apologetic, but that only goes just so far to compensate.
Next time we come this way, we'll stay somewhere else.

I did not realize when I made reservations that this was an exterior property. Since it was just myself and a friend traveling (both of us female), I would not have chosen this lodging, as we both feel safer in a true "hotel". The lobby area is very nice, but when we got to our suite, we were horribly disappointed. Our room was located at the very back of the property in what the front desk clerk called a "breezeway" but looked more like a dark alley. Since we arrived well after dark, our long walk down narrow outdoor hallways to the room made us very nervous. The room had stained carpeting and two of the drawers were literally hanging off the tracks. The shower had two temperature options: tepid and scalding. After fiddling with it for about 5 minutes without success, I chose tepid and got in. I ended up taking a very short shower because it started going from tepid to ice cold alternately. The beds were ok and the rooms spacious. That's the best I can say for that portion of our stay. We did have breakfast the following morning and it was amazing. The lady who handled the dining area was very friendly and the food was all hot and delicious. There were lots of options: waffles, sausage, eggs, bagels, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, etc. We informed the front desk clerk at checkout about the broken drawer issues in our room. I won't stay at this hotel again because I didn't feel safe, and when simple, cosmetic things like broken drawers aren't even repaired, I have to wonder how clean the place is. « less

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"Everything was satisfactory at the hotel. Leslie, their group sales coordinator did an excellent job taking care of our needs for billeting and hospitality facilities. Your web site is among my favorite sites and may, in fact, be used again next year for a possible reunion in our nation's capitol." R.R. - Southwest Florida
"Everything was spectacular. I LOVE this service. I have booked four separate meeting using your group travel service and I couldn't be more pleased." K.B. - Houston, TX
