On a recent trip to Emory, a number of friends with children in attendance at Emory recommended the Emory Conference Center. They were right on target! The hotel is a stone's throw from campus and provides friendly, convenient (& free) shuttle service between the hotel and campus locations. The concierge even arranged to have a car meet us on campus, with our luggage, en route to the airport, so we didn't have to lug them with us or return to the hotel. Also enjoyed a late night bite in the hotel restaurant and a delicious buffet breakfast in the morning. Rooms are comfortable & adequate, nothing exceptional, but the warm & accommodating staff trumps what the décor may lack. « less

A conference center is probably not an ideal choice for a family vacation, but the Emory Conference Center Hotel was centrally located to our travel plans in the region, so we gave it a shot. Good call -- we enjoyed our stay and would certainly come back if we're in the area again. And I'd schedule a conference here in a minute if needed, and not just because of the built-in bowling alley (though that helps).
The room was pretty typical, which is not a bad thing. The beds were comfortable, there were two very comfortable chairs and ottomans for reading, a nice desk / work area, and a spacious, well appointed bathroom (though the shower was not the best). I liked the fitness center, which had plenty of workout equipment, including different brands of elliptical machines. The indoor hot tub was a good temperature, but the heated indoor pool could be a little warmer. (Still, it's hard to complain about swimming in April during unusually cool weather.) The lobby is enormous and gorgeous, parking is convenient in the attached garage, and the conference facilities and dining areas are very nice (I checked). Driving around the area can be a bit chaotic, particularly during rush hour, but you can literally walk to a handful of restaurants and shops (including a CVS) and are just a short drive to many more.
Special thanks to Mr. Watson, the concierge against whom all others will now be judged. He took a special interest in my three-year-old daughter, always made time to talk to her when we were in the lobby, and made the effort to remember her name. He even recommended a great steak restaurant in town. You don't always get that kind of personal service in a hotel designed for conferences, and it was much appreciated. « less

My family really enjoyed our stay at the Emory Conference Center Hotel. The hotel has outstanding facilities to include 2 great restaurants, a bowling alley, a scenic garden area, a grand fire place meeting area, and a massive conference complex.
We stayed as part of a conference and really enjoyed staying in the newer wing of the hotel. The rooms were lavish, modern, clean, and absolutely great to stay in. We also enjoyed the bowling alley and lounge. It was very nice and a welcomed break within walking range of your room.
The only two drawbacks of the entire stay were some issues dealing with the front desk in handling a booking error, and a very temporary visit to the older wing rooms. They had a lot of trainees and several of our conference attendees had errors getting into our rooms. One of those errors placed us into a room in the older wing. I am glad this was only a temporary stay because I wasn’t as impressed with the room conditions; older furnishings, appliances, features, and a musky smell.
Barring those two issues, this hotel was outstanding and would be a great location to stay or to host a conference. « less

Take I-85 north to Exit 248C (Freedom Parkway). Follow the signs to the Carter Center and bear right on 42 east until it dead ends. Go left on Moreland Avenue; Moreland becomes Briarcliff. Stay on Briarcliff and go approximately three miles. Turn right on Clifton Road. At the 5th traffic light, make a left into the Emory Conference Center Hotel.
