We were booked into this hotel by an Agent who said it was highly recommended. When we got there we had no booking or was there any sign of one. They had a spare room so we accepted there must have been an oversight. The room was basic but having spent a lot of time in India we knew that is really all you need especially for one night. we toured around and came back for dinner. Having ordered we waited quite a while before it arrived. By this time we were exceedingly hungry. One meal was fine (the veggie one) but my chicken was still raw next to the bone. Having called the waiter and tried to explain to him that it was not cooked he took it away and said he would get it cooked some more. I explained that that would be no good. The manager came over and said I could either have that recooked or have a new one. I refused both and stated for them to take it away. When the bill came I deleted the chicken dish and paid the rest. The waiter came back and said the money was short. I explained what I had done and he went back to the kitchen and told the manager who started to make some comment from a distance. I summoned him over but he refused and continued his comments. I walked away and went to bed. In the morning at breakfast I was waiting for some more comments but it didn't come or not heard. When we checked out we were asked for cash as the machine was down. I said that I did not have that amount in cash and asked them to try the card machine. Surprisingly it worked. I got my receipt and left with a look from them that said it all. The hotel is in a central location and looks good but it ended there « less

The room that we had was very dark, rather dingy and full of ill-fitting furniture. The A/C units were dripping causing damage to walls, furniture and floor. There were many mosquitos and no nets above the bed. The courtyard is somewhat pleasant, but can be stifling and buggy, as there is no breeze. The breakfast was fair. All in all, I would suggest finding another place, as I found it to be overpriced, given the quality. I will say that the location is quite convenient, as it is very close to the chinese fishing nets and the main thoroughfares of the old town. « less

What do you expect of an ancient property???We wanted to be taken back in time and that is what we got. If you want all your mod cons, then stick to the Five Star hotels and pay the mod con prices. Fantastic location, really felt relaxed, and safe. Jobey, Subash and all the staff were very helpful and looked after all our travel arrangements in Kerala. Again their service was prompt and efficient. Breakfast was unusual but that is what a holiday is all about, why travel thousands of miles and expect continental breakfast???or English for that matter. Full marks to them, and we will be back soon. Try their Iddyappams, DELICIOUS!!!! « less

Rossitta Wood Castle is a great place to stay in if you are looking for a small yet incredible hotel. The hotel was under renovation when I went, which was an off season time so I got a good deal. The hotel staff was friendly and room were neat and clean. It gives out a historical touch and is located in the Fort Kochi area which is near to a lot of tourist destinations like the Dutch Cemetery, Church and the view of the Chinese Fishing Net. « less

This is a cheap and basic hotel. It could do with a bit of cleaning and attention to detail - Exposed wiring in the rooms and leaking taps and showers and slippery floors etc are a problem. Our TV did not work and was on a very ricketty table which looked like it might collapse at any minute. It is well located in Fort Cochin and walking distance to the historical sites and land marks. The air con was weak and the street below was a bit noisy (so I slept with ear plugs). We stayed one night and it was adequate for our needs. Staff were friendly. The breakfast was basic but tasty and filling. This is not a high end hotel, but if you are looking for something cheap and clean it is a good option. No bells or whistles here though, but you get what you pay for. I would say it is a 1-2 star place. Food is cheap and tasty. « less
