The Sleep Train Pavilion (formerly known as the Chronicle Pavilion and before that, the Concord Pavilion) is a venue located in Concord, California. The Pavilion has a capacity of 12,500 people. The venue opened in 1975, as the Concord Pavilion.
The facility was designed by architect Frank Gehry and landscape architect Peter Walker.
It is used for concerts, local community events (including an annual jazz festival) and local high school graduations.
Bill Graham Presents took over operations of the facility in 2000. It is now run by Live Nation.
The First Battle of the Bands for high school, middle school, and elementary school students took place in 2006 and the winner was a high school band, Poster Boy.
The venue has hosted numerous professional musical acts over the years of its operation, and continues to do so to this day.
Notably, Bing Crosby played his last US concert at the Pavilion.
Also, it was upon leaving a 1991 concert by Huey Lewis and the News at this venue that legendary concert promoter Bill Graham was killed in a helicopter crash.
