The location is smack bang in the middle of the Downtown area of Beirut, with cafes and restaurants on your doorstep, along with high end shops. The staff at the hotel could not do enough. My room was large with a small kitchenette which would be useful for a longer stay. I felt as if the room was a bit damp and musty. The carpet is dark and while I'm sure everthing was really clean, and the bathroom was spotless, it just didn't feel it. There are blankets on the bed instead of a duvet and the overall style is a bit dated. There was an automatic air freshener next to the kitchen which squirted its scent every 30 minutes which kept me awake. It was just a quick trip so didn't mention it to reception but I'm sure they would have gone out of their way to fix it. The bathroom was large, with an over the tub shower. It was difficult to get in the shower as you had to climb over the bath surround which wasn't easy. The location is a huge selling point for this hotel but I'm not sure I would stay again. I would rather pay more and stay at Le Gray which is just around the corner. « less

A very nice and very friendly small hotel, in the perfect location in Beyrouth. Very friendly senior manager Jean Jacques greeted us on our arrival at 11 pm. We were upgraded to the best suit in the hotel with a lovely big balcony overlooking the square. The mattress on our double bed was the best i have slept on in a hotel for a very long time. There was a TV in the bedroom, Lounge and the bathroom which also had a jacuzzie! The room also had an ironing board and an iron. A few minutes in the room, and we were sent a fruit basket, cookies and freshly squeezed orange juice...so refreshing. The roof top restaurant served a delicious and comprehensive breakfast. We sat out on the terrace and were served by very professional and courteous staff always willing to oblige. If i were to visit Beyrouth again, would stay here again. Beautiful location, every sight worth visiting was within 5 minutes walking distance and the best Lebanese restaurant was just 2 minutes walk..This hotel was in the heart of the downtown area. There was no free wifi which was disappointing. Its expensive. « less

I had heard before coming to Beirut that Downtown is really the "new" Beirut and not very authentic. This may be true, but I loved it here!! The whole downtown has been renovated in recent years and the location is very central. It's 2 minutes walking distance to tons of cafes and restaurants at the Place de l'Etoile, shopping centers (like Beirut Souks), a 15 minute walk to Gemmayze and about 20 minutes to Hamra and the Corniche.
The hotel itself is really beautiful! I loved our room. It was spotless, very roomy with an understated luxury. The bathroom was huge too.
Free Breakfast is served in the hotel restaurant and the food is decent. Not thrilling, but definitely not bad at all. The restaurant has nice views and free wireless. There is no free wireless in the rooms, which is a bummer, but the cafe is open 24 hours so you can always go up there.
The staff was beyond pleasant and accomodating at all times. I would definitely stay here again without a second thought!
Cons: No free wifi in the rooms and not worth it to purchase. Expensive and slow. There is really no lobby/waiting area.
Tips: When travelling within the city, I suggest to WALK!! The taxi drivers are ruthless and will try to make up fares. « less

The location is the best. The reception staff was very friendly and fast in organizing. They organized the taxis for us, we had no problems. The rooms are huge. Rooms 105 and 106 are spacious with a view.
Wifi is expensive and slow. The rooms could be a little more clean. The breakfast staff is problematic; the service is very slow and their attitude is a little far from business seriousness. I talked with the reception, they said their staff changes every week and they can not find someone good. But they will make changes he said. So maybe next year, the hotel will be much better. Overall, the hotel is a gem but it is not run well.
Despite every con, I recommend this hotel to everyone. It is still the best choice of price and quality in Beirut. « less

Perfectly situated in the middle of Downtown Beirut. Reasonably priced, a very clean hotel but tired in look. In need of a refurb but the main point of Beirut is the night life. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Do not rely of the hotel for a gastronomic experience as they will dissapoint you. Plenty of resaurants within 2 minutes walk and you very own amred soldiers on the front door to keep you safe! I would return but am looking forward to the hotel getting a lick of paint and some plasma screens. « less
