I was a little concerned about renovations at this hotel and I was ready to ask for one of the newly renovated rooms when at 11:15 on a Friday night (it's awfully convenient to stay at this hotel without having to take a cab/train to another hotel) when the front desk told me that all the renovations were complete and that I'd be the 5th or 6th person to stay in my newly renovated runway-facing (my request) room. It was very quiet, even for my very sensitive radio-producer ears. Only the very largest of jets were slightly audible through the 4-pane glass windows.
The new rooms are handsome and functional. From a very comfortable bed to a throwback clock (no radio), from the extra-wide chair (slightly smaller than a loveseat) and leather ottoman to a huge desk area, the room was just perfect for my brief 2-night stay. There are plenty of outlets for electronics.
Most hotels in Philadelphia were fully booked (or only had very high priced rooms available) for two major events in the city this weekend; I was able to secure a lower-than-normal rate through Marriott's website using my rewards number.
The hotel is conveniently located: it's attached to Terminal B at PHL. Getting to Center City Philadelphia and beyond is quick and easy by regional rail situated halfway between the terminal and the hotel entrance. Rail to the city costs $7, payable (only) in cash on the train. (SEPTA: join the 21st century and get some ticket machines that take credit cards, please.) The trip takes 19 minutes to 30th Street Station. The only time one needs to go outside is when on the train platform...and even then, it's covered.
The bed was extremely comfortable and was stocked with plenty of pillows. The bathrooms are clean and large. Lighting is excellent. Plenty of towels. No place to hang a hand towel, though. The closet was large with plenty of hangars. The closet door would not stay open without the aid of a doorstop (my shoe.) Blackout drapes kept my room pretty dark even in full morning east light.
The only ding: my in-room coffee was not restocked between nights. I would have asked for more, and call me cheap, but I didn't feel like calling housekeeping for coffee and feel obliged to tip for something that should have been included in the first place!
Finally: when will hotels provide HD signal to their lovely HD flat screen TVs?
Overall: a very comfortable, quiet, and convenient stay. I'd most certainly stay here again when on a quick trip to Philadelphia. « less

I was not sure what to expect based on the reviews. But I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Overall a great stay.
The Good: The hotel seems recently refurbished. The rooms are plush, fresh & very comfortable. The glass is super thick and you can not hear the planes outside at all. Its as if you were in a vault. Bathroom was nicely stocked with towels, the WIFI worked perfectly. Beds are the usual Marriott beds & also very comfy. Even the lighting was good in the room. I had no complaints other then the size, They are deffinatley on the smaller side.
The Bad: There is a lot of talk on the reviews about construction/renovations. I did not see any of this. I was on the 14th floor and everything seems to have already been renovated. The only thing I noticed is that the pool/fitness center are still in the process & the pool was closed.
The parking is is a bit of a pain & its $17 a day. You have to park in a lot adjacent to the hotel & show your ticket 2x so the entire process is time consuming. But all in all its not so bad I suppose. But beware - I fly to PHL often. Of all of the airport hotels in the area. This hotel charges the most for parking. As a matter of fact, most of them do not charge anything. So when you consider that this hotel is usually more expensive then the others in the area & you add to that almost $20 a day in parking. It makes you want to consider another property.
Summary: Stay here if you dont have a car or need to stay for only one night. The hotel is clean & very nice. There is no price to put on the convenience of walking right into the terminal from your hotel. But stays longer then that, stay elsewhere & save the money. « less

When I was here in mid-May, I didn't see any signs of renovation, except that the pool was unavailable. Everything in the lobby was very nice and new, and same for our room. Despite being right next to the airport, the hotel is very quiet and we had no noise disturbance from outside or from hotel guests.
We stayed on the 6th floor in a corner room. Our only complaint about the room was that the A/C didn't work. We set the thermostat to 66 one day; when we got back, the room was just as stuffy as we'd left it, and about 74 degrees. Good thing the weather was cool; otherwise the room probably would have been miserable.
You do have to pay $12.95 for 24 hours of Internet access in your room, which is outrageous. But you can use the Internet for free on the first and second floors. You also have to pay $3.50 for the bottle of water they leave in your room. But you can take as many mini bottles of water as you like from the fitness center on the second floor by the elevators.
The food in the restaurant is good, and so were the drinks, but the prices are exorbitant.
Note: I got a discount using the friends & family rate, so it ended up being a great value. If I'd had to pay full price, I might have a different perspective. « less

Stayed one night at end of January unexpectedly as flight cancelled and had to get an early flight ex-PHL the following morning. Booked the room the same day whilst waiting to take off from Heathrow online so that was simple- very standard airport hotel with a pretty unwelcoming first impression from the check-in agent. Had a couple of beers at the makeshift bar on the mezzanine (main one closed) and service was friendly enough. Slept ok but was up at 5.30 so cannot comment on plane noise or bed comfort overly. As its the only hotel on terminal they have a bit of a monopoly and it shows. Not great to be honest for the money. « less

Stayed one night before an early morning appointment in south Philadelphia and didn't want to take a chance driving from home and getting stuck in rush hour traffic. Obtained the hotel via Priceline at a very good rate.
Check in and out was quick and the front desk staff were very professional. The rooms were large and comfortable. Nice large flat screen TV with a decent amount of channels. Beds were very comfortable. As previously mentioned there is a charge for the internet, but we didn't need it for one night. Our room did not have a mini fridge but did have a coffee/tea maker. Some basic toiletries were available and a hair dryer. It was extremely quiet for an airport hotel located directly in the middle of the airport.
Parking was in the attached garage with direct access into the hotel for a fee of $20.40 per night. We didn't use any of the other facilities available there like the fitness center, restaurant or bar so I cannot comment on any of that.
I would recommend staying there for an overnight stay if you have an early flight or are going to a ball game. Since we got our room at a considerable savings over their rack rate I feel we got a great value. I would not pay the regular price for this hotel or any hotel, for that matter, in the airport area. « less

"I have to tell you, I don't know how I planned trips before! I really saved alot of time that I otherwise would have spent phoning the hotels individually checking rates and availability! I have already recommended it to another Tour Director. " A.H. - Richmond, VA
