I stayed for five very quiet nights at this hotel. It is located on the edge of a medical district and there is a Tierpark (small zoo) just around the corner that families love to visit on the weekends. There also appered to be a small park just across the way from the hotel.

As others have commented, the rooms are modern and efficiently laid out with all the amenities you need. My room was fairly small but it had enough room to move around the king bed. In addition there is a desk opposite the bed and an easy chair beside the bed. The power outlets were easily accessible at the desk and chair. Lighting was sufficient but barely so - I always like more light than I seem to find in most hotels anymore.

The closet was roomy with plenty of hangers and there was a wall safe large enough to hold our laptops comfortably. The bed was a normal German type - quite firm with no plush cover of any kind. However, I slept comfortably. The sheets were very, very soft and luxurious. The room was very quiet. I was there for five nights and only heard noise from guests in an adjacent room once.

The bathroom was normal size with all the expected toiletries. The tub and shower were typical for a German hotel (deep and narrow) with a shower head that removes from the wall. There was a large magnifying mirror to help with makeup and a hair dryer available.

The front lobby is very attractive with plenty of soft seating and an area of small tables adjacent to the coffee/tea area. Coffee and tea is provided free of charge during breakfast hours and the coffee is very good. The tea flavors were varied. I do regret that they charge Euro 17 for breakfast - I like to make my travel dollar go as far as I can and spending Euro 34 for breakfast isn't how I make that happen! The hotel also serves dinner meals and, although I didn't eat there, the prices seemed more reasonable. There is a fitness center that appeared to be have extensive machines (I could see it from my bedroom window).

There is free outside parking but the area can fill up quickly. The hotel also offers paid parking in their underground garage which would be very useful in bad weather since your have to walk around the front of the hotel when you park in their open parking area and you can walk directly into a side entrance to the hotel when you use the garage.

I found the staff to be polite and friendly but not the warmest ever - just a little aloof - particularly the evening crew.

I would have rated this hotel excellent but just couldn't because of the outrageous amount they charge for breakfast. This is a very comfortable hotel. « less
