Great place to stay with outstanding service. This was my first trip to China and on arrival I was having a problem with the taxi driver who had brought me from the airport. The bell boy sorted it and even paid the additional amount he was wanting from me without me knowing (i didn't have enough low value notes!). Check in was efficient and all staff spoke very good english which helped me be relaxed. Room was very clean, comfortable and stylish with a bathroom that would not be out of a place in a hotel costing 3x as much for the room. Walk-in shower was especially nice and powerful. Hotel has a spectacular lobby containing many fine pieces of Chinese art around the outside of which they are very proud. I didn't drink in the bar so no idea whether it is reasonable or not but the breakfast buffet is something else. Arguably the greatest selection at breakfast I have ever seen in any hotel I've stayed in, even in Las Vegas. Various styles were available including chinese, japanese and western with many familiar foods including fresh breads, pastries, freshly cooked omelette etc. Additionally, as others have said, the location is very convenient for metro and expo centre, and cost of a taxi to downtown Shanghai was about £7. I would definitely stay here again even if just visiting Shanghai as a tourist. « less

If you want a great hotel near the Shanghai/Pudong exposition centre this should be your hotel of choice. There are others close by, but this one has the best interior design and is attached to the subway station. The restaurants are great and the lobby lounge has a very cool ceiling video/entertainment system - made me feel I was really in a contemporary Chinese location. Rooms are large and nicely appointed. I found the service in the restaurants and the spa to be very good - strong English skills and very polite helpful. The new Gen Manager personally ensured my special meal requests were carefully attended to - nice touch. I will definitely return. « less

The staff are very helpful and the rooms are reasonable size and have an ipod dock, large television selection etc. All in all if you have work at the Shanghai Expo Centre this hotel is probably the best that you can get and most convenient for sure! « less

This was my first visit to the Jumeirah Himalayas in Pudong, Shanghai and my six night stay was exceptional. It's truly a world-class hotel and I will return. While the property is situated a 10 minute taxi ride from the CBD of Pudong, it's worth every minute to stay at Jumeirah Himalayas.
My room on the 18th Executive Floor was exquisite - offering a soothing oriental decor - with a separate office enclosure on the window which I very much enjoyed working from.
The management and staff, to a person, were helpful in all regards and assisted me with my business agenda and travel arrangements in China. I could name many of the staff by name but just know that they are all extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
The breakfast buffet was excellent and enjoyed each and every morning! The fitness facility is also spacious and has all the necessary equipment. I did not swim but noted the pool to be an excellent facility.
I have been to Shanghai three times in the past eighteen months and this will now be my hotel of choice. « less
