We stayed there four days while fishing. The room was dirty and the frig. was disgusting. On the second day the lights went out in the bathroom and they couldn't fix it. They put us in another room even worse (didn't think it was possible) than the first. The water didn't work right in the shower, had to take cold showers. The room must not have been cleaned from the last guests. The whole room smelled bad. I have stayed in motels in Key West and Islamorada and they are all third world. Why is everything so dirty. Do they not have bleach in the keys? One other thing (that Pelican Cove had no control over) is the noise from the Teki Bar at the Postcard Inn nest door. Don't expect to sleep until after 1am.

Simply put, we made a reservation for 4 months from now and unfortunately had to cancel the very next day after we made the reservation. Desk clerk tells us its a $25 fee for cancellation. We explain this was never stated to us and rudely tells us we were wrong and we get the "I don't make the rules" line. Ask to speak to a manager and they don't return phone calls. I can understand if we cancelled weeks later or days before our reservation but to cancel less than 24 hours after we made a reservation? Even airlines are more forgiving. Its a shame because we have stayed here multiple times before with no problems but if you want my $25 dollars that bad then might as well give my business to someone else. « less

I was very worried by the reviews on this sight and I also have to say I have stayed in many 5 star hotels and some things here may be outdated however, the beauty of this place I can not put into words. The staff is WONDERFUL and the rooms are extremely comfortable and the patio is the best part(large) could sit for hours. The location is perfect!! I am currently still here and am dreading leaving nxt wk. So guess what I am getting at is almost did not stay due to the reviews and I would have missed out on paradise if I had listened to them. Room 323 is outstanding..I come to FL 2 times a year and have been staying at the Ocean Point Suites but after this trip Pelican Cove is my new home away from home. « less
