We stayed at the Cavalieri on our second trip to Rome last year, we decided to spoil ourselves and we weren't disappointed. This lovely older style hotel offers lovely views across Rome, delicious finger foods with drinks in the evening on the 7th floor with twinkling Rome vistas. The room was lovely, old world Italian charm and there are a couple of swimming pools and a spa to enjoy. The breakfast was simply stunning and the best on our trip away. There is a shuttle bus to run you into the heart of Rome which runs every 20 minutes. The staff were wonderful and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel, we can't wait to get back there soon. Thank you Cavalieri, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you! « less

This is simply a beautiful hotel. It lives up to its reputation. The breakfast buffet was amazing! Please try! It is one of the best I have had at a hotel. Other than breakfast, I would not recommend eating here b/c hamburgers cost 29 euros. Based on principle, I can't spend that kind money. We had Hilton points and stayed at the hotel. There is a shuttle from the hotel to Piazza Barberi from ~ 8 am to 9 pm with exception to a few hours around 1-4 pm. Unless you are < 50 (or in great shape), you probably can't walk to Rome from the hotel. The proximity of the hotel makes it close to the Vatican (~ 20 minutes regular pace) down side streets with sidewalks, but narrow. You can find food this route that is normal priced. Piazza Barberi is not near the Vatican if that is your destination, but it is centrally located. The driver of the shuttle was there every day we were and was really friendly!! If you want to get out of your comfort zone, try the Turkish bath. It is a fun experience. This is a safe area and overall, we felt Rome was very safe. If you don't want the expense of this hotel or want to be in city central, the Marriott on Via Vento is a great location as well as the Westin on the same road. They are next to the US Embassy. While we were at the hotel, John Kerry was on the floor above our floor. Pretty cool. Questions, just ask! « less

Location is a bit if a negative - you are quite a way out of town, but that's no problem if it's peace and quiet you're after. No irons in the rooms though! Apparently due to bizarre Italian legislation - so presumably the same everywhere. « less

The executive lounge is a lovely place to while away an hour or three with the balcony and lovely nibbles and unlimited prosecco! The pool was very quiet if not a little cool. Would definitely recommend the hotel for couples. « less
