"A place to sleep"

The housekeeper did not understand that the green card on the pillow meant to change all the linens. More training is needed in that area. She did not leave a bath mat; I'm sure just an oversight. There was no price list in the beginning of the banquet at the portable bar. The floor vents in Salon D were dangerous as my heel went through the duck tape. Carlos did a fine job with the banquet area and in the Sawgrass Room. We found food stuck on the wall from a previous occupant in the Sawgrass Room and showed him and the next time we entered the room, it was cleaned. He did a great job of everything I saw. Would I stay there again? Probably not because I felt like I was in a community with all the help speaking in their native tongue amongst themselves and didn't understand when asked about something. I would rate my stay only average. I could see where things were being renovated and that was good but it has a long ways to go to become more than an average hotel.

"Planning a Convention made easy"

The Group Sales and Catering Departments worked well with our group for our veterans convention. However, restaurant service was slow and menu not varied enough. Our convention was spread over four days and the restaurant food did not have enough variety for that length of time. Almost everyone ate at least one or more meals outside the restaurant because of that and the slow service. Also, no room service available. Housekeeping was "spotty" at best. Some days, excellent; some days lacking excellence. Elevators were noisy. Guests on our floor were very loud at 2:00 AM! And on more than one occasion. Fortunately, we were able to view the WDW Magic Kingdom fireworks from our room every night! That was a bonus.

When we arrived the hotel did not have our information concerning the reservation, but since we had the printout they honored that. However, in looking at the charges for the hotel, they charged an additional $25 separately. We still do not know why. So the credit card company has their fraud division looking into it. As for appearance, the second we opened the door it smelled like a wet dog. There was hair on the bathroom floor as well as a woman's acrylic fingernail and tissue that was wadded up behind the toilet on the floor. The sheets also had spots on them. If it was not so late and the charge non-refundable we would not have stayed.
