Comfort Inn and Suites is my favorite chain when I am travelling. but this is one I will not stay at again. I arrived just as a major storm was approaching, but the length of the checkin ensured that I was unloading my car in the pouring rain and was drenched by the time I arrived in my hot, stale smelling room which was uncomfortaby warm with no AC on. .Although this is a nonsmoking property, employees smoke in front of the main door so you pass through the smelll of stale smoke for your first impression.
At checkin I was told I could not use my laptop in my room, but if no one else were using the computer in the lobby I was free to use that. I said for the rate I was paying I would rather go some place else. I was then given a cord and told if I used that I could use my laptop in my room.
Once I got to my room I found I could not get the lamp on the desk to turn on. I looked and saw both light bulbs were missing. I next decided to move the clock on the night stand.so I could better see the time from the desk. I found the cord for the clock was jammed behind the nightstand so I had to move the nightstand. When I looked behind the nightstand I could see I was the first person to move that nightstand in some time. It was filthy behind there.
I next decided to note some of these problems on the comment card, but to my surprise the comment card had already been completed by another guest but the staff had not picked it up. I noted the previous guest had not give the property very high marks for a Comfort Inn.
If you needed a receipt you had to wait until morning. The first time I tried to get a receipt there were three other peope waiting, the next time no one was at the desk (I saw the employee in front of the building smoking) and the third time I was told I could not get a receipt until my things were out of the room as my key no longer worked once the receipt was issued. I questioned this so after getting my receipt the desk clerk came with me to see if the key still worked which it did. It seemed the policy here is to put the guests through as many hoops as possible. I wanted to talk directly to the manager, but at 9:00 in the morning he/she was still not in. « less

Im sharing my experience with the Burnet Texas Comfort Inn in result of the Hotel Manager not responding to my complaints. Since they do not care, I will share with our Tripadvisor. The Comfort Inn in Burnet Texas was the only Hotel with a room open in the area, and after our stay there my husband and I discovered why. The Hotel is listed as a non-smoking, I liked that detail and felt confident our room would be fresh in result of the no-smoking. This would not be the case, the moment we opened the door to our room there was a strong smell of smoke and a detergent to cover it up. The next problem was the tile in the bathroom, cracked in need of replacing, shower was badly stained. There was one lamp not plugged into the wall behind the bed, instead it was plugged in on the wall beside the bed so the cord was strung alone the wall, just an accident waiting to happen. So we unplugged the cord and just didn't use that lamp. We will be booking sooner to insure we get into a better Hotel, just pass Burnet by and go to the next town. « less

Great little hotel! Perfectly situated between multple state parks in Hill Country. Allows pets, has spacious and clean rooms, fridge and microwave included in room, very attentive hotel staff, decent breakfast, well priced. This hotel actually has many amenities; my husband and I were tickled to find out that they had a game room equipped with a pool table and dart board. Very laid back. Would definitely stay there again. « less

The hotel was great although we had a rough experience thanks to a noisy neighbor and some plumbing issues. We would not say that this was a bad hotel to stay at because of this, though, as the issues were dealt with promptly and the manager gladly compensated us by cutting our bill in half. We had an unfortunate experience although the hotel as a whole seemed wonderful. It was incredibly clean, the standard continental breakfast was offered and the front desk staff was friendly and accomodating in offering directions and recommendations. « less

Out there in the middle of the rustic countryside is a real gem! We had to book this Comfort Inn in Burnet because of the motor race in Austin which drew more than 200,000 people. This was the closet place with rooms available. We were going to a Birthday Celebration for a 97 year old Aunt at a place South of Austin. You can imagine our frustration when we couldn't find a room closer for less than $400 a night. It was really a last resort and since we were driving home through Burnet decided it was worth driving for an hour and a half after the party to get to a place to sleep. When we saw the Comfort Inn & Suites we thought "Wow" and out in the Hill Country! The staff was friendly and very courteous, had our room ready and we checked in in less than 3 minutes. We walked into a large clean room with 2 Queen beds with pillowtop mattresses desk fridge and large bathroom, neat, tastefully decorated and the air condition was fairly quiet, imagine that! The flat screen tv had a great picture. The beds are high and though I had to jump into it were extremely comfortable. We didn't get to try the breakfast because the hotel was full and so was the breakfast room but the breakfast display looked fairly good. We had breakfast in the next town north of there Lampases at the Kountry Kitchen, a quaint country cafe. The breakfast was very good and the service was great, the prices even better! Three of us ate a full breakfast for $21. Can't beat that! I highly recommend the Comfort Inn & Suites in Burnet TX. I would stay there again anytime. « less
