We are a family of 4 travelling with a 14 month old baby and we have just returned from a family break in Rhodes. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday. We would definitely return again. The customer service in the hotel was fantastic especially in the 10th floor restaurant and the 11th floor Rodian bar. We stayed all inclusive for 14 nights and the choice of food and drinks including alcohol was excellent. The staff were very friendly, helpful and all polite. On arrival we was upgraded to a sea view where the views are beautiful. Floor 9 is a must with people travelling with children as rooms are bigger. Both swimming pool are great and kept very clean. The hotel was always kept clean. Reception staff very helpful and provided us with a kettle, sterilizer and a highchair for the baby in our room. Entertainment was okay but didn't have much the first week as it was the beginning of the season, the second week was better with around 3 shows a week and other activities.

We are a party of 10 adults plus 2 children (2 years old and 18 months old) who have just returned from a family break in Rhodes.
Overall, we would definitely visit again due to; a) Great value for money b) Fantastic customer service.
I'll look to cover off the 'positives' and 'areas for improvement', and hopefully this will be helpful to you. It's worth noting that in the list of 'areas for improvement', my most recent holidays since my 18 month old was born has been to a 5 star resort in Turkey (which is 2.5 times as expensive as this holiday) and a 5 star resort in Greece (which is 2 times as expensive as this holiday), so it may not be a fair comparison, but just highlights what extra you get if you want to spend the additional money.
Positives -
1. The biggest positive was the fantastic customer experience we received. We have travelled extensively and stayed in a number of 5 star resorts, and the customer service at this hotel was the best we have ever experienced. Special mentions must go out to the following - Antonios, Manos, Dominique, Silas and Nico.
2. The hotel showed great flexibility with their food options in order to cater for the majority of our large party who are vegetarian. The hotel's standard food options generally included meat and fish options, but upon finding out that we were vegetarian we noticed a significant increase in suitable food options. The staff were also keen to check that we were enjoying the food - a very personal touch.
3. The pool areas on both the ground and 11th floor were very clean and well maintained.
4. The rooms were very clean, and the sea view rooms have a truly fantastic view of the sea.
5. Wi Fi is free and accessbile around the entire hotel, even in the outdoor pool area at the front of the hotel property.
Areas for improvement -
1. The biggest draw back for us were the lack of sufficient grounds for taking long walks. The two previous resorts we've visited in Greece and Turkey had large, well kept grounds which allowed for lovely, long evening walks after dinner (to be fair, these other resorts were more expensive, so this may not be a fair comparison). Large grounds in which the kids can run around and play in a safe environment really help make the holiday more enjoyable for families with young children.
2. Lack of alternatives for evening entertainment. Whilst the evening entertainment on the 11th floor was generally enjoyable, it would have been nice to have two or three options to choose from.
3. Whilst the management had an excellent command of English, a lot of the more junior staff were not able to either speak or understand English very well. This led to difficulties in our ability to communicate at times.
4. The kids play area was small and only had two swings and one slide. It would be great if this could be expanded upon, giving the children more to do outdoors.
5. It would be great if the hotel had additional a la carte restaurants to choose from. It only had one, which got booked up pretty quickly.
Again, with each of the above listed 'areas for improvement', I'm conscious that if the hotel were to make these changes it would probably make it far more expensive to visit.

My friend and I spent a long time trying to find a destination with good reviews, and we were not disappointed with this hotel, such friendly helpful staff who could not do enough for us through our 7 night stay..when we arrived we were told the bar on the top floor closed at 11.30 but if we wanted we could still pop up for a drink, beautiful views and sunsets from this bar. .the pool bar staff downstairs, Krista, Karlis Ellioss ,Lotta, Sintija.,are exceptional young people and a credit to the hotel. Karlis has a great talent as a illusionist for adults and will be a great asset to the hotel. Ellioss also great bar man very hard working friendly person. Hotel and room very clean and the spa, well absolutely fab I must recommend Nourten best massage I have had in years.. Food good but was a little repetitive Reception and porter staff very helpful and friendly Good location and will return.☀ « less

First of all we would like to say a big thank you to ALL the staff and the management team for the great hospitality that they had shown us throughout our 7 night stay. They made this hotel feel like our second home:)
We arrived late on Saturday evening (around 11pm). The reception staff were very friendly & very professional and check in was very simple. We were taken to our room within a matter of minutes of arriving. During our stay at this hotel, we were very happy with the customer service received and the politeness of all of the members of staff that work at this hotel.
Secondly, this hotel lives up to its 5* rating as it is very clean and maintains its high standards. Why certain people would give it a bad rating is beyond belief.
This hotel is very child friendly. Our 4 year daughter absolutely enjoyed her stay and loved the kids club. All the animation team were fantastic and made a big effort in keeping all the children entertained, whilst we relaxed by the pool side.
The swimming pools are very clean (indoor & outdoor ones). The sauna & steam room were kept clean at all times and what we really liked was that there were separate steam & sauna rooms for males & females.
The food was great and super healthy. The food is fresh and tastes very nice. We never really tried Greek food before, but during our stay we got to try a variety of different dishes and glad we did.
The rooms are very clean and spacious. We had a seaview room (room 432) and the views of the sea and the surrounding area of the hotel was lovely. The beach was only a 2 minute walk from the hotel itself. To access the beach, you walk through a tunnel linked at the front of the hotel. This is useful as you don't have to cross any busy roads to get to the beach.
On your stay, a nice place to visit would be the old town in Rhodes. It is only 10 minutes away from this hotel - by taxi and it would usually cost 8 euros. It is highly recommended that you go there as it has a lot of history and a lot of nice places to shop, eat and drink.
We will defiantly be coming back! We have had a very relaxing holiday and we can't praise this hotel enough. Thank you for making our stay so welcoming. Our daughter was very upset that she had to leave as she really got on well with the hotel staff, they all made her feel really special.
We would like to personally thank the assistant manager - Mr Antonios Stavroulias and all his team of staff,to name a few: Dominique (floor 11 restaurant), Maria (floor 10 restaurant), Gaynor (reception), Niño (animation team) and including all the bar staff at the pool side bar on floor 11 and the evening bar staff at the Rodian bar - floor 11 and all restaurant staff on floor 10. And not to forget the cleaning staff also who do a fantastic job every single day.
One last thing I would like to say is we have stayed at a lot of different hotels in the past and this is definately one hotel that we will be returning to in the near future. sas ef̱charistó̱ :) « less

We ended up at the Amathus Beach by default as the 5 star hotel we originally booked was not going to open for the season on our arrival date. Brilliant work by "lowcostholidays.com" switching us to this hotel as it turned out to be a brilliant choice, thank you! The Amathus centrally located and is easy to get to from the airport as it is on the main West Coast road to Rhodes town. We took the local bus (Euro 2.20 each - remember to buy your tickets BEFORE you get on the buses in Rhodes as drivers do NOT sell them from April this year) which stops outside the Amathus. Warm welcome by the receptionist. We had a double room with a sea view on the 9th floor. Nice size, modern decor and great view of the coastline - watching the sunset is a must! The food on offer (We were half board) is of a high quality with plenty of choice with dinner menu's changing daily. As the season was only just about to start, the staffing increased inline with the guests checking in. Cannot fault the restaurant service, all friendly staff. The restaurant is on the 10th floor and depending where you sit, views of the sunset can be enjoyed. The main bar (Rodian) is on the 11th floor. Very roomy with comfortable seats. You can also sit outside on the balcony overlooking the sea or around the pool area. As you would expect with a 5 star hotel, the drinks are not the cheapest, but this is something you expect with this type of establishment. However, cocktails were not too far adrift in price from some local bars. Draught beer and wine by the glass were slightly higher than local bars. There is a "happy hour" each evening between 6.00 and 7.00pm. Take advantage of this and unlike other places offering "2 for 1" deals, the Amathus offers all alcoholic drinks (Excluding champagne or cocktails made with champagne) at half price, nice touch if you and your partner enjoy different tipples. The entertainment programme had not yet kicked in whilst we were there (Last week of April) but they did have a resident pianist most nights in the Rodian bar. I think they offer themed nights during the main season. The hotel has very good outdoor pools and sun bathing areas (Most of the sunbeds at the two pools at the front of the hotel have comfy mattresses on them) and the pools are well maintained. You can access their own beach area via a tunnel under the main road. Rhodes town is only 10 minutes away by bus (Euro 1.70 each way) with the bus stop outside the hotel entrance. Leave the hotel and turn left and you are a short walk from Ixia. Plenty of bars and restaurants there including a "sports bar" showing all football matches - plenty of large screen TV's. Overall, we had a brilliant week at the Amathus Beach Hotel and should we return to Rhodes in the future, we would make this our first choice hotel. Well done to all at the Amathus, thank you!!!! And by the way, the weather was brilliant too! « less
