This is a great place to go for snow tubing near Binghamton, NY.
Pros: The lodge is well-decorated and the service is nice. They have a variety of room types with separate areas to accommodate big families or groups of friends. The full kitchen comes with utensils and pans so you just have to bring food. The restaurant on the first floor has good food and service if you prefer not to cook. There was a shuttle service to the adventure center in the winter.
Cons: The bathroom was small compared to the entire room (Loon Hollow Suite). When we checked-in, there was no valet or anyone to help with our luggage so we had to unload and go park ourselves.
Overall, this is a great place to go with family, kids, or friends. We had a great time snow tubing and riding the mountain coaster at the adventure center without any lines or waiting. One nice surprise we had upon check-out was that all the previous night's snowfall on our car had been cleared for us! I would recommend bringing lots of food, snacks, drinks, games, DVDs if you're staying for a few days. « less

Your tips to future travelers will be helpful to anyone planning a trip to the lodge. Regarding the valet, we are sorry that no one offered to help you. During slow periods we sometimes only have one valet on duty and that person could have been helping another guest. However, if it is very low occupancy we have it set up at our front desk to have someone appointed to valet at any time a guest requests the service. It is hard to say what the circumstances were but please ask the next time you stay; we want all our guests to receive all the services available. I’m so glad to hear that there was a valet around who cleaned off your car when it snowed. Please visit us again!

We went to Hope Lake lodge for two nights. We only did the waterpark for one day but the pool could be used at anytime. The kids loved the indoor/outdoor pool in the winter time. What an experience to be swimming while it snowed. We loved the cabin suite, that was my favorite part of the stay. It was so beautiful and the beds were the best we've slept in at any hotel. We had a full kitchen and could have done all the cooking ourselves. We had some worries about the waterpark being too small and the kids not having enough to do for an entire day but that wasn't the case. The little ones stayed busy in the various smaller areas and the bigger kids had a blast on the big waterslides. We didn't run out of fun and everyone wanted to do the waterpark another day. We plan to go back next year...great memories were made! « less

We have nothing but good things to say about our weekend trip to Hope Lake Lodge. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, definitely not like other hotels we have stayed out. Our 4 year old had a great time doing all of the children's activities and the staff in activities was excellent. The décor around the lodge was perfect and our kitchenette was stock with many kitchen tools to cook any type of meal (which of course we didn't do but will in the future). We are actually looking into taking partial ownership of one of their many condos as we live about an hour away and had such a great time. Just as a note, the breakfast buffet was just okay but when we ordered off the regular breakfast menu it was excellent! The spa was very pretty but thought was a bit overpriced for the amenities provided while there...but did get a manicure after spending two days in the pool! Gift Shop has anything you may have forgotten and is open 24 hours. « less

We spent last weekend at the Hope Lake Lodge after purchasing a groupon for a 2 night stay. It was really a great laid-back hotel where kids were welcomed and entertained the whole time. Our kids are 14 and 11, and enjoyed the waterpark for a day and the adventure center for a couple of hours the next day. Will remember to make reservations next year to do the tubing and skiing - as the mountain looks good for kids. The waterpark was a little on the small side (compared to Great wolf lodge for example). My husband called it the "little wolf lodge", as it's about the same concept just scaled down. I preferred the smaller atmosphere, but my 14 year old did get sort of bored after a few hours and went to the video arcade. I would say the ideal age for kids would be between 6-12. My kids were too big to do the majority of the activities hosted by the hotel (thru the kids club). It would have been fun to have a couple teen (& pre-teen) activities. The focus is absolutely on the smaller kids. All-in-all, i would recommend it. It was clean, friendly and fun! « less

Hello Thank you for staying with us and taking advantage of some of activities and amenities. Your 14 year old might enjoy hiking the gorges of Ithaca, miniature golf at Shipwreck in Cortland. Thanks for the tip regarding the children’s activities. We do have the night owl program during the winter. The kids go over to the tubing center at night on the shuttle bus without their parents and have a great time. We have Frisbee Golf during the summer, which we will be promoting more. Your idea to have activities for teens is a great idea, thanks for the suggestion. We look forward to hosting your family in the future.
