I was in town for a conference this place is very elegant and clean and the staff is friendly. Located near the convention center and the baseball stadium. Plenty of things to do nearby. All of the people I was with hung out at the bar a lot because our bartender Renee was very friendly. We even had people with us that weren't staying here but we made them come to our bar because Renee was so friendly. I will definitely be back « less

This hotel is perfectly located downtown, just across the river from PNC Park and walking distance to just about everything. I rented a car, which was a mistake. Once you're here you do not need it (although renting a car at Pittsburgh airport is really easy - no shuttle busses required). This has one of the better hotel gyms I've seen, the rooms are very comfortable and spacious, and the staff is friendly and helpful, for both local information and help within the hotel. The bar and food at Braddock's in the lobby is also very good, and a relaxing place to hang out after a work day.
This hotel gets a little bit of a ding for the rates, which I found a little high for our stay. I might give this overall 4.5 stars for that. « less

My husband and I recently stayed here and would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Pittsburg. Location is fabulous.....right across the bridge from PNC park and very close to the National Aviary. If possible, get one of the river view rooms......spectacular views of river, city and ballpark. Staff was very friendly and helpful......We had dinner at Braddock's Brasserie in the hotel and it was very good. Breakfast buffet was very nice too with lots of fresh fruit and pastries, along with usual things. Room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Parking can be a challenge but try to park in the parking garage across the street from the hotel. We parked there for 2 nights and it was only $14........would have been much more with valet parking. « less

I stayed for one week for business. I usually stay at Renaissance or Marriott hotels and this Renaissnce Pittsburg was one of the best Renaissance I've stayed at in the US in terms of property, service, and location. I had an issue with the room on the first night and the general manager quickly gave me a room with a great view. The first room was smaller but had nice wall paper and new modern furniture with a high ceiling. The second room was a huge corner room on the top floor with a magnificent view of the river and the ball park and a jacuzzi (room 1407). The mattress and furniture were a little bit old comprared to the first room, but I had a very comfortable stay for the week. The business lounge had the best oatmeal. I ate oatmeal in many Renaissance/Marriott hotels but they had by far the best oatmeal, if you care. I ordered room service twice from the hotel restaurant (grilled salmon and scallops) but unfortunately the food was not up to par. I had a nice meal at Six Penn restaurant one block away.
This is not Fairmont or Ritz Carlton but is one of the best within its category in the US. I'm a Marriott gold member and was thinking about switching to Hilton but friendly service like this keeps me loyal to Marriott. « less

Dear Akiroz, so glad that you enjoyed the room and the view. Hopefully you saw part of a Pirates' game. I'll be honest sometimes when I inspect the rooms overlooking the river and stadium I relish looking into the stadium to see how everything is so pristine and serene. A totally different perspective than during a game!!! If I remember right you were the guest with the noisy room next door when I was helping at the front desk. Once again, our apologies for that guest but so glad that we were able to make amends.
Look forward to your next visit. Barbara McMahon, GM
