The Lansing Courtyard by Marriott is located on Lake Lansing Road, which is an exit 79 off US-127. Our location provides easy access to I-96, I-69, and US-27. The hotel is within 7 minutes of Michigan State University, the State Capital and downtown Lansing. For your member’s enjoyment, we are located across the street from the Eastwood Towne Center, which offers fine dining and outstanding shopping.
In April 2010, the Lansing Courtyard experienced a full renovation in which the whole property received new carpet, paint, bedding/mattresses, landscaping and a new Bistro. Our Bistro is open mornings from 7-10 AM and serves a variety of hot breakfasts and then reopens for dinner and drinks from 5-10 PM. The Market is available 24/7 to help players stay energized at any time during their stay.
The Lansing Courtyard takes pride in our “home away from home” atmosphere, where you will experience friendly faces, outstanding service and oversized rooms for a great value. Many of our rooms have patios or balconies and offer a view of the courtyard. All 129 guestrooms include hairdryers, coffee makers, irons and ironing boards, and Free Hi-Speed Internet.
Additional hotel amenities available to guests are an indoor pool, free parking, guest laundry, and a fitness center.

We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott, Lansing on the weekend of March 16. As far as hotel stays go, it wasn't the best I've had, but it wasn't the worst, either.
First off- everyone with whom we traveled had the same issue with their GPS- the hotel is actually on Riley, off of Lake Lansing Road. If you try to enter the parking lot from Lake Lansing... you are not going to enter.
The staff working the check in desk was friendly. It was nice to be greeted with a smile on such a gloomy day. Others in our party said they had issues, but we had none. Checkout went just as well.
My first disappointment was that we could not find an elevator! This is a 2 floor hotel, and we were on the second floor. We had many items to bring up to the room. If there was an elevator, it needed to be more clearly labelled, because no one in our party of several rooms was able to locate the it.
Our room was adequate. The beds were comfortable- especially the pillows. I slept well both nights. The room was not a clean as I expect from my past stays at Courtyards. There were bottle caps and lots of dust bunnies around the bed, and several golf balls on the window sill. (?) That was odd to find in Michigan in the winter. We also did not have either a fridge or microwave in our room. Our friends across the hall had the same type of room, and they at least had a fridge. The only microwave was in the lobby. We did have a coffee maker, which made my room mate very happy
There is a nice size (and clean) pool area, and an exercise room. Both were in very good condition, and many people in our party used both.
The one thing I did miss was the breakfast buffet. This Courtyard has switched to the Bistro/coffee shop model. They had a Starbucks, with a limited menu, and a little "convenience store". There was also a bar area in this hotel. It was quite pricey, so we opted to eat off-site. We had brought a few things to keep in the room, but this was a problem with no fridge as our cooler was only made to transport, not keep things cold the entire weekend. I threw a lot away.
There were several restaurants near the hotel, and there is a mall across the street, as well as a Meijer a short distance away. It was a 15 minute commute to the Lansing Center.
While our stay wasn't outstanding, it wasn't the worst, either. Pretty average, I would have to stay. « less

A GEM in East Lansing! The entire staff is knowledgable and kind! They are always willing to give local tips and help out in any situation. Honestly, like a home away from home! Everything we needed was here --from Starbucks and breakfast in the morning to cocktails in the evening! Very clean and comfortable ! Location is awesome too! Plenty of restaurants and shopping across the street and MSU a 10 min car ride! Make frequent trips here and would NEVER stay anywhere else! « less

Standard room is very spacious however, some have fridges and others do not? Not very consistent here.
Front staff is very helpful and friendly. Overall not a bad property to be at although you will find better value and pricing at other hotels. « less

Our room was clean, attractive colors but not especially roomy. Odd furniture arrangement if you like to watch TV from bed. TV too large for the space, in my opinioin. Small fridge in room but just setting on the floor by the dresser, not built in. Nice bathroom and vanity arrangement. Liked the regular, small coffee maker, not one that just brews into a cup. Bed was very high, had to take the cushions off the sofa and stack them by the bed so my husband could get into it, due to some weakness he suffers. A serious drawback is the lack of an elevator. Long, sometimes confusing hallways when exiting the lobby/lounge area.
Breakfast is available but not included in the cost of the room. We found it to be very expensive, and not speedy, $15.50 for two orders of French toast, no meat, and gratuity expected. We much prefer a hot breakfast buffet, cost included, which can be quick or leisurely. Coffee and tea are available 24 hours in the lobby. The Bistro, where breakfast is served, also serves sandwiches during some hours. Cannot comment on that as we did not visit during those times.
Getting to the facility is a bit tricky as it is not accessable from the main road. « less
