It is a interesting hotel for anyone visiting the city but you need walk 15-20 minutes to the Catedral (in ascent) and other attractions (like The market and Art Center Comtemporrânea) are in the opposite side so you must walk a lot. All park in Santiago is paid but 300-400 meters from the hotel (opposite to the direction of the Cathedral) has an public area where you can park for 2 or 3 euros, all day. It was the only advantage of this hotel but I do not have others comparisons. We didn´t enjoy the breakfast because it was not included in the rate. There are no bars or restaurants around the hotel The only place I found to take breakfast it was at the University (next where I parked the car). The room was clean and we have nothing to point to. The staff was sympathetic and provided us a city map. « less

This is a good option if you don´t want to spend much money. The location is perfect: near the historic sight with place to parking near the Hotel. You can reach the historic sight in 5 minutes walking. The rooms are simple but very clean spacious and comfortable. The staff is very helpfull. The only problem we had was the noise between the rooms and in the morning. « less

We booked quite late, so didn't have many options on the weekend we came to santiago de compostela. Hotel San Lorenzo is ~10minutes walk to the cathedral and the rooms are spacious, clean but a bit uninspiring.
I have no complaints about this place but usually I prefer to stay somewhere with a bit more personality. But the price is good, the location close to centre and I was out of options. « less

We stayed here for one night and it was ok. Clean tidy quiet - nice staff. Breakfast was fine. The walk to the cathedral was easy. We ate at a restaurant called Les Heurtes (i think) which is on the walk to the cathedral and it was terrible - go into the old town instead. Parking is a real pain because they have a discount deal with the multi story called "cathedral". The one-way system is a nightmare and you'll need to want a challenge to go park, walk to the hotel and collect the car again the following morning to pack the cases in. I took a chance and left the car round the corner amongst other cars and had no problem. « less
