We stayed at this hotel for a few days while in town visiting my sister who lives just across the border in New York. We normally stay at her house, but this time she was having a big family get together so a hotel stay was needed. We arrived late at night and the hotel staff was very nice and greeted us with a smile. The free breakfast was great and the kids enjoyed the pancake maker. There was nothing spectacular about the room but the beds were very comfortable. Every time we came back or left the hotel, we were greeted by the front desk staff. For everything we needed, this place was great! We may even decide to stay here from now on when we visit my sister since it is so close and more comfortable than cramming everyone in her house!! « less

For a hotel located in the Danbury sprawl, this is a good value for the business traveler. Until the downtown section of Danbury, CT is improved someday your best bet is to stay in the outskirts. At the Holiday Inn Express 89 Mill Plain Rd., you can walk next door to get your nails done, dine at the Ibiza Tapas Bar or other restaurant in the strip mall and in the warmer months walk .4 miles to Starbucks for you morning cup of coffee. « less

We needed to stay in Danbury for more than a week on family matters in February . We found this Holiday Inn Express fit our needs. Apparently, it was a Comfort Inn until recently - check the elevator certificates - but it is very much a typical Holiday Inn Express now.
We wanted to be on the west side of Danbury off the Interstate. Other nearby chains were a Hilton Garden Inn and Residence Inn. Perhaps, it may have been able to get a deal with the other two on Priceline or the like. On their wensites, however, they were considerably more expensive. We got the Holiday Inn Express under $100 per night.
The rooms were clean, the service very good, the hot breakfasts free and nicer than some other chains. Also, free WIFi.
The location is good - just off the interstate, next to a Chinese restaurant, across from a Duchess franchise which is a pretty good Connecticut fast food place for breakfast, burgers, and sandwiches. Also, several other restaurants within a short drive and a large shopping mall, CVS, and supermarket all within a mile or two.
Minor downsides: an outdoor pool (the Hilton Garden Inn has an indoor one), a small exercise room), and the room seemed pretty dry with the heat on during a cold snap.
All in all, it may not be a not a five star hotel but we felt it a good value that served our needs quite well. « less

First time at this location was in January after that massive snow storm! I choce this hotel because of the existing reviews of the hotel. The room was a bit worn, as was the bathroom. The bathroom had stains in the tub and the sink seemed to sag on one side.
The breakfast was just OK, I've had better at other holiday inn express's in the country. The staff was nice and the location was a bit off the path but adequate for our needs.
I dont think I would recommend this if you have to be in danbury! « less
