Might not be the top of convenience as location for toursit travellers but the quality/price ration is very reasonable. « less

Gabor Sinka at the reception gave an extraordinary help when my luggage got lost and guided me to usefull places for shopping new clothes etc. The hotel is nice and my rating is between 3 and 4 stars, but as the hotel is old and needs to be renovated it is not possible to give more than 3 stars. The bed is nice like coffee in the room is appreciated. The number of plugs to plug in pc, phone etc are limited to three. When the hotel is full you have to wait for the lift too long time and it is faster using the stairs. The breakfast i nothing special, but the scrambled eggs are made of fresh eggs whish is seldom in 2013. If you like your coffee warm you should avoid the thermos at the table and use the coffee containers with fresh coffee. I have stayed at the hotel several times and I keep comming back. « less

Over the years I have become a regular guest of this hotel. Although the hotel and rooms overall very much assembles the outfit it had in the 1990’eies it also has its conveniences.
The rooms are partially refurbished though still have a bit of worn-out ambience over them. However, rooms are very nicely clean with equally very comfortable bedding. Avoid rooms located on lower floors with direct view towards the boulevard in front of the building – unless you favour being awakened by bypassing trams early morning. Rooms facing the inner court and the side-street are conveniently silent.
The main convenience of the hotel is its pleasant staff and central location with most parts of Budapest within reach by car, tram or metro. WestEnd City Centre, one of Budapest’s major shopping malls is with five minutes’ walk from the hotel. « less

I've stayed at this hotel 3 times now. It's an old, tired property, but I accepted that on previous occasions due to the extremely competitive price. I've come across the ripped towels mentioned by others, but in general haven't had any complaints.
This trip was different. I'll try and keep it concise, but it should be remembered that this is advertised as a 4* hotel.
1. The room had no no iron/ironing board. I requested an iron and board, and was told that the only option was to use an ironing room 3 floors up,
2. I was told that irons are only provided in 'Business' rooms. The hotel website states that these have views 'Overlooking the Grand Boulvard', and I have had an iron in room before on rooms which didn't have this view.
3. The kettle had been removed for maintenance, and was replaced with a note that hot water could be provided on request. I requested an alternative kettle, at which point I was advised that the electrical circuitry in the room was no longer suitable for a kettle.
4. Given the lack of iron, kettle, or proper power supply, I asked to change rooms. To the hotel's credit they upgraded me to a suite, but.....
5. Every electrical socket in the suite had a sticker on it, saying do not use for irons, kettles etc. Based on these two rooms, I suspect the entire electrical system has been deemed unsafe for higher amp/volt appliances.
6. There was no kettle, but a Nespresso machine. Unfortunately the machine would only dispense espresso sized volumes (even when pressing the full cup button), which made getting hot water for a cup of tea hard work.
7. One TV (there were two) had no signal or channels.
8. Dust was very evident on large wooden surfaces.
Service has, and continues to be good at this hotel. The hotel itself has unfortunately past its end of life, and needs immediate refurbishment. Unfortunately I'll be staying elsewhere on my next visit to Budapest, as it's no longer of the standard it claims to be. « less

The room decor is really old and furniture is tired. The bathroom towels are old and torn and to add to that the staff service is terrible. I called for a wake up call and they barely acknowledged my communication and just said ok by and hang up on me without repeating my request as is the norm.
I called room service and they told me that i would have to wait 45 minutes because the restaurant is full!!!!
I would not reccomend this hotel to anyone. « less
