The room was relatively spacious and quiet, the bathroom clean and nice. The mattresses were perfect for us - not too hard and not too soft. We loved the small but clean fitness- and sauna-area where one can look over the city while working out on the cross-trainer. The hotel is centrally located - one can easily walk to the Zwinger in 5 minutes, the rest of the city only slightly longer. Jogging along the Elbe is perfect from here.
We liked the artsy parts a lot!

The area itself doesn´t have much in it, though it´s only a 10 or so minute walk to either Neustadt or Altstadt. Ask at the front desk for directions to either the BrennNessl (AWESOME veggie restaurant a few blocks away), or for the German restaurant closeby as well.There is an organic supermarket around the corner also, if you want to stock up your room. On the 5th floor is the fitness center (2 machines + free weights), as well as sauna. « less

art'otel is located close to Desden old town quarter, which can be walked to within 500 meters. Also a tram station is close by. The hotel is modern style with a lot of modern artwork hanging around, even these paintings/prints not beeing necessarily everybodies taste. Breakfast is average, but fair in regard to the room rate. Parking garage is with direct access to the hotel, yet not cheap with 14.50 €/day. « less

This is a great, funky hotel only a ten minute walk to the Zwinger. We wanted something different from the large featureless hotels opposite the main train station. A little difficult to find without resorting to a taxi only to discover from reception that a Number 11 Tram leaves from the station and stops about 50 metres from the hotel (Note to manager - put this info on your website). The room was comfortable with a jazzy bathroom and cool lighting window feature that makes the bathroom either opaque or translucent back into the bedroom. Now there's an interesting option you don't always see in hotel bathrooms! The desk morphs into the closet and the bed was large and comfortable.These hotels feature artworks from local artists. This one included paintings, sketches and sculptures mostly from the one artist. The large sculpture on the roof of the hotel is definitely worth a photo! Staff were friendly and helpful and kindly minded our bags the following day after checkout as we had a few hours for more sightseeing before catching our train. Breakfast was plentiful and yummy. A great hotel and close to everything - great to try something different if you are only only having a brief 24 hour stopover (like us) or a few days to explore this wonderful city. « less
