I really enjoyed my stay at this Hotel in February 2013. The rooms were modern and well equipped, and the breakfast catered for our dietary needs very well (there is a lovely buffet, which also includes options for the lactose or gluten/wheat intolerant). The restaurant here was a highlight- it was one of the best meals I have had whilst in Germany. Highly reccomend dinner here! We made a reservation, it wasn't too busy because it was winter still, however I would definately reccomend booking a table in advance in the warmer months. The park across from the hotel is lovely to walk around, and it is also an easy walk to all of weimar's museums and attractions. We had a fantastic weekend in Weimar at Hotel Dorint! « less

This hotel was a bit above our normal budget but we had trouble finding accomodation here and for once we hadn't booked in advance. It was quite luxurious in many ways and the staff were very friendly helpful. In a hotel of this quality it was disappointing to find that there were no facilties in the room for making tea or coffee, but this is not as common in Europe as it is here in Australia. It was very convenient to the centre of Weimar. Breakfast and onsite undercover parking were both extra and quite expensive so we declined both. We parked for free thanks to advice from reception just a short walk away in a sidestreet and we walked down to the attractive square in the morning and found a great little italian cafe serving a really nice and cheap breakfast. During the night a circuit breaker tripped in our room and the power went off, which was a concern as my wife uses a CPAP machine at night. They located and rectified the fault quickly and were very apologetic in the morning. « less

We had arrived late in Weimar after a long day on the road driving the autobahn from Potsdam. We had reservations at Hotel Leonardo, but one look at the place convinced us we couldn't stay there. The man at the front desk helped us find reservations at the Dorint after we told him we were willing to pay more money. There wasn't a better location to be had in Weimar. The hotel was right next to the Goethepark and within easy walking distance of all the major attractions including the Goethe House and the City Schloss Museum. Every dinner and breakfast was a banquet. The breakfasts were the most elaborate of the entire trip. The cheese plates belonged to a gourmet's dream. The hot tea and coffee tasted better here than anywhere else. The omelettes looked as if Julia Child had made them. The baked tomatoes with cheese were from heaven. Dinner featured Thuringian specialties. Desserts were downright artistic. « less

I chose this hotel just by the recommendations on trip advisor. It proved to be a wonderful decision. On a roots trip with my grandsons we had spent the day at Buchenwald concentration camp memorial. I lost some of my family there so it was a tough, sad day and the hotel proved to be just the right place. It was dark already when we got there and we were very tired. The reception staff were terrific. There was a message for me from Buchenwald for me to go to the archives which were across the road. They translated some messages that I had difficulty with and were very helpful. We did not eat in the restaurants so I can't comment. The room had free wifi, and a mini fridge, an important requirement for me. The parking garage was across the road and very accessible. The hotel is beautifully decorated both inside and outside. The rooms very modern and comfortable. It was a great stay after a difficult day « less
