I read all of the rave reviews before booking this hotel for my husband and me. Not my experience. Stunning location, awful room, worse parking. After dragging our bags across a long gravel parking lot and a wood-chipped path we then carried the bags upstairs. We were told that one of their many golf carts would assist us, but the bellperson basically gave us a map and that was it. Where to begin on the room? Very cheap décor, all laminate, all the time. I'm all for eco-friendly, but not eco as an excuse for cheap. You literally have to crawl under the desktop/counter to use the electric plugs. The water in the mini-fridge is a small Britta pitcher. I didn't trust the sanitation enough to drink it, especially since they offer used slippers in the closet. Another issue is the height of the tub/shower, which needs a step stool for people under 5'6". The exterior is straight out of the early 70s, with frosted glass side panels by the front door, which when backlit allow you to see into other people's rooms. Not good. If you choose to stay here, don't stay in the contemporary housing. I travel all the time for business, and do my homework about where to stay. This was the most disappointing stay I've ever had. « less

This historical property, a former Coast Guard base, has spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay and the San Francisco skyline. You can stay in former officers' quarters (we did) or in their newer rooms. The officers' quarters look out over the open Parade Grounds for a sublimely relaxing view. The staff was very attentive and the restaurants was terrific. « less

We treated yourself to a hotel out of town after staying for the first part of our stay in motels. It is a lovely location, isolated with a great view of the golden gate bridge. Reception service was awesome from the moment we drove up. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. Breakfast was very good indeed, it is a well run ship at breakfast time. Dinner in the casual dining area could do with some improvement, the service was slow and we needed to repeat ourselves before we got our drinks. Sadly for us (and this us not the hotel's fault) the fog rolled in, and throughout the night we heard the fog horns from the ships. Overall, if I was wanting a hotel out of town in Sf, I would recommend. « less

Great hotel in renovated Officers Quarters on Fort Baker. Spectacular views of San Francisco and Golden Gate Bridge. Hotel offers both historic rooms (in renovated Officers Quarters) or modern rooms. Modern rooms look like a generic hotel from outside. Historic rooms were very interesting and quaint. Renovation was very well done. Murray Circle restaurant is a short walk. Spa and fitness center on site, but we weren't there long enough to enjoy. « less

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"My middle school band and I have been extremely pleased with the service we received from your company. I had many choices for hotels very quickly and the hotels I considered were all excellent. Even after I selected our hotel, your agents stayed in contact with me periodically and even arranged a free upgrade of my room to a suite! What a nice surprise! I plan to book my next trip through them and would highly recommend them to my friends for their group travel plans. Thanks for a great experience." C.C. - Grove Hill, AL
"I have to tell you, I don't know how I planned trips before! I really saved alot of time that I otherwise would have spent phoning the hotels individually checking rates and availability! I have already recommended it to another Tour Director. " A.H. - Richmond, VA
