For anyone looking for a great getaway vacation as a couple or with the kids try Ocean City, Maryland. I stayed at the Quality Inn several times over the past 3 years. The hotel is right on the boardwalk which is 3 miles long, full of many different restaurants, pizza shops, jewerly stores, ice cream stores, candy stores, T- shirt shops, and more. Ocean City is a safe place to visit with very friendly locals who go out of their way to make sure your visit is a positive one. The rooms are nothing fancy however always clean and for being right on the beach, very affordable. Once checked in you never have to drive anywhere for anything unless you choose to go exploring. THE best dining experience food wise you will ever experience is going to The Grove Market. You will need to make a reservation with Leslie the owner or you will not get in. If the restaurant calls you because someone else cancelled take any open time available. Cancellations do not happen often, so jump on it. The initial appearance of the restaurant will throw you off, but don't let it. The quaintness of this restaurant is what makes the experience so fun. Most of my friends who went for the first time drove by it thinking it was a bait shop. They also said they have been all over the world as travelers and this meal stands in their top three dining experiences ever. I am going back again in July and setting my July reservation this week. This beautiful city, friendly hotel, and unbelievable restaurant will not dissapoint you. Your family will make many fun memories, and go back again and again. « less

We needed a quick ocean breeze getaway (before a Tuesday morning meeting) and the QI Boardwalk had a reasonable AAA rate for a nasty March day. It was late night arrival for us in a driving rain, thankfully we had reserved an oceanfront king room. We were delighted to get a complimentary suite upgrade. The primary reason for our stopover was to listen to the waves pound the beach and enjoy a quiet night together before getting back a hectic work schedule. The only negative to our stay was the odd behavior of their staff at check in and check out. The night guy (took forever to process us in) did want us to sign in or give a receipt, which was needed for business expenses. At check out in the morning the "new trainee" seemed nice enough, but the "manager" was plain rude. Did not ruin our stay, but certainly not what is expected for most folks on a vacation at a beach resort. « less

To the reviewer from Prince Frederick, MD, I was one of the chaperone's with the children who were attending the event at the Convention Center on February 2; so, sorry about the pool incident. I discovered there were human waste stains in both double beds (which I was allowed to change myself because there wasn't a hospitality staff on staff at 11:15 pm), had to go pick up an extra washcloth and towel because there wasn't anyone avl to deliver it at 11:15 PM, cracked AND peeling paint in the bathroom, the lock and the curtain for the sliding glass tour was broken (didn't feel safe at all), hot water was not available and neither was heat, and the elevator was broken. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone, at any price, until it is renovated! « less

We arrived at the hotel on Saturday, February 2, 2013. There were about 100 children in the swimming pool, so we knew that it would not be a quiet weekend! We had reserved a king size non-smoking room and received a call a few days later to tell us that they had no more king size, only doubles. When we got to our room, none of the 3 phones worked. Maintenance was able to quickly resolved this problem....but we had no hot water and no heat. The heat was fixed on Sunday when the maintenance man came up and turned it from heat to A./C and from 90 degrees to 60 degrees! Gee, why didn't I think of that! This was after freezing for 24 hours! Still no hot water. The elevator was down most of the day on Sunday, but luckily the children were all checking out! Apparently there was a children's event at the Convention center that weekend. Before heading out to watch the Superbowl, still no hotel water. The front desk kept telling us it would be fixed in an hour. When we returned late Sunday, there was hot water! So we were able to FINALLY take a shower on Sunday. The good points? The bed was comfortable, the view was great. But I would gladly give up the bed and the view for a shower! « less
