We stayed in room #1208, which had a great view, not ocean view but a wide view of the ocean, where we saw turtles coming up on the beach to sun bathe. Our room had granite counter tops with a full kitchen and a newly redone bathroom. When we sat on the balcony and took pictures it looked like we were floating over the water. A very nice picture of the two islands across the way. The pool was being redone on the day we were leaving, which should be nice when finished. The office staff was not the most friendly, but Darlynn at the concierge desk was most helpful. She let us borrow her box fan and we returned it every morning at 7 am. There is not a big beach at all. When the tide is in the water goes all the way to the stairs that lead to the hotel grounds. « less

We arrived around 1:30pm and were told that our room was not ready yet. So we waited until the 3 o'clock check-in time and were told that it was still not ready. At 3:45 they were finally able to get ahold of the housekeeper to give us access. They did allow us to use a fridge downstairs for our perishables from Costco. A few days into the trip, my daughter discovered that someone (previous to our arrival) had thrown up between the wall and the bed. I was horrified and called housekeeping. The housekeeper arrived and said that it was dirt. I think she was scared of losing her job since she had supposedly cleaned that room and missed it. It was all over the wall, drapes, floor and part of the bedspread. YUCK.. I called the front desk and asked to speak to the manager. He was not available and they said they would leave him a note to contact me. I called again the next afternoon and was told that he hadn't come in that day. I asked if there were any other rooms available and was given a couple to look at but the key card did not work. He did not call the next day either. I was getting very frustrated. Finally, Angie (at the front desk) came through for me. She offered us an oceanfront room for our remaining 4 days. It was beautiful. I was disappointed that the manager (Jim) never did contact us, but Angie made it better. All in all, the place has a great location, having a condo is the way to go, and I'm not picky about not having my room cleaned every day, but the housekeepers should clean it before you check in! « less

We spent 2 night here and we not unhappy - whilst the complex is dated the condominium we had ( 118) was very well appointed and roomy. The location is literally beachfront and easy to find if driving from the airport - a convenience store is 1 minutes walk away though if you have a car Times and Safeway are a short drive also .
We got this in a package deal but were not unhappy and would use again - pool tennis courts etc and to be honest it was pretty quiet though at 100% occupancy « less

We stay in many hotels and never review them, but this one deserves it all. We arrived a couple of hours prior to check-in and they told us to wait till 3pm. Had a gut feeling that we should leave, but decided to give it a chance anyways. Huge mistake. We stayed for 4 nights April 22-26 in a "garden view suite" with a view of a burned down structure, a concrete wall and a little sliver of ocean. My wife was not impressed with the room as the bedsheets we stained and well worn and the outdated furniture was covered in dust. I was unpleasantly surprised to find out that Internet is 13$ a day. Even though when we have booked the hotel through a booking website it was as advertised as free Internet. When I brought my concerns to the front desk they suggested I call the booking website. They were so nice to suggests there is free wifi in McDonald's nearby. When I insisted they said that they need to talk to the manager and she is not on site. I was promised to be contacted about this the next day. That never happened. There are so many things wrong with the room, but because of the internet experience i did not bother to ask any more. The water in bathroom sink wouldn't go down and the tap was covered in lime and who knows what. As an added bonus when we arrived we discovered suspicious curly hair resting on the tap that would not wash off. We had to brush our teeth in the kitchenette. The kitchenette cupboards were crooked and the paint peeling. The dishes were all greasy so we had to wash them prior to use. The air conditioner and fridge were so loud they were ready to take off. Oh yes and the 1$ ice bucket was cracked! How cheap do you get? A summary of the level of care is a month old notice on the door about a hot water outage. They don't even have house keeping! Which is not advertised either. At the end of the stay they did not even ask us "how was your stay?". Clearly, they want to turn a quick dollar with minimal effort. I thought I was getting a deal when booking a 3 star oceanfront hotel, but this was the worst deal of the last couple of years. The quality of the room would be more suited for a shady motel. Maui is a nice place, but this experience definitely marred it. Needless to say I will avoid this place like the plague. « less
