Hawthorn Suites has to be the best placed motel. It had malls, restaurants, an plenty of shopping, all within walking distance. I don't think Hawthorn Suites should be considered a motel because it is much, much more. Our room was set up with stove, refridgerator, AND dishwasher, along with a microwave. For my next extended stay in Grand Rapids, Michigan, I'm sure to check in with Hawthorn Suites. « less

We've stayed at this location quite a few times and have always had a great experience. This time, however, it was extremely warm out and the room did not have air conditioning running. We turned it on, but it never worked. It was warmer in the room than when we arrived. One of us has an illness that is temperature sensative and was suffering in the morning from it. Had we known it didn't work, we would've called maintenance about it. « less
