Overview: An artistic statement of Khmer, Art Deco and French style. The hotel sits in beautiful tropical grounds. Originally opened in 1929, and re-opened in 1997, after a sympathetic extension and refurbishment by Raffles Hotels & Resorts. 2011 saw the guestrooms, lobby, bar, private rooms and ballroom newly refurbished. Location: In the heart of Phnom Penh, only 30 minutes' drive from Phnom Penh International Airport and within easy access of the city's attractions such as the Royal Palace, Central Market, Russian Market and the National Artefacts Museum. The Interiors: Dating from the 1920s, distinguished by its blend of Khmer, Art Deco and French colonial architecture. The hotel commissioned a local traditional Khmer artist's studio to create painted ceilings, decorative beaten copper crests and outdoor sculptures. The buildings that make up the hotel are set around a large courtyard that encloses two swimming pools and private gardens. Guest rooms: 175 guestrooms, apartments and suites, each tastefully appointed with Art Deco style furnishings and Cambodian objects d' art – 102 State Rooms, 38 Landmark Rooms, 13 Executive Suites, 10 Colonials Suites, 4 Personality Suites, 5 Landmark Suites, 2 brand new Balcony Suites, 1 Le Royal Suite.
